Strengthening community health starts with meaningful conversations and collective action.

Our recent Town Hall Meeting in Indabo community, Wudil LGA, Kano State, brought together stakeholders and community members to identify key health and nutrition challenges and co-create practical solutions to improve healthcare access and outcomes.

A major highlight of the meeting was focused on nutrition education and exclusive breastfeeding, featuring practical demonstrations on preparing balanced meals using locally available foods. We also addressed common myths and misconceptions around breastfeeding that continue to impact maternal and child health.

The discussion further examined service delivery at the Primary Health Care (PHC) level, with a focus on the functionality of nutrition corners at Indabo PHC. Where gaps exist, participants explored strategies to establish and revitalize these corners through Ward Development Committees (WDCs), Mothers’ Groups, and sustained advocacy for adequate nutrition supplies.

Together, we are driving community-led solutions for stronger, healthier futures.

Sustainable Education Through Shared Responsibility

Strengthening parental involvement is not just an option — it is a necessity for building inclusive, resilient, and culturally responsive education systems.

For non-formal education programmes to truly thrive, communities must move beyond participation to ownership. When parents and caregivers are actively engaged, learning becomes more relevant, trusted, and sustainable. Education succeeds best when it is co-created with the very communities it serves.

Sustainable education is built on shared responsibility — where families, educators, civil society, and government work together to ensure that no child is left behind.

It’s time to place communities at the center of education reform.
