Some moments deserve a second look.

During both our first and second courtesy visits to one of our esteemed patrons, His Royal Highness Amb. Ahmed Nuhu Bamalli, CFR, the Emir of Zazzau, we had the privilege of sharing APAF’s efforts to localize the United Nations Security Council Resolution 2250 on Youth, Peace and Security (YPS). We discussed the importance of empowering young people to become active peacebuilders while strengthening collaboration with traditional institutions to advance sustainable peace.

As we prepare for the 6th Youth Peace & Security Conference & Awards 2026, these engagements continue to inspire our commitment to turning global frameworks into local action. We remain grateful for the Emir’s encouragement and unwavering support for youth-led peacebuilding initiatives.

CALL FOR APPLICATIONS IS NOW OPEN!

Following the successful 4-Week Youth, Peace & Security (YPS) Awareness Series, the Arewa Peace Ambassadors Forum (APAF Peace For All) is pleased to officially open applications for the Induction and Inauguration of Youth, Peace & Security (YPS) Advocates and Women, Peace & Security (WPS) Advocates.

This initiative is designed to build a strong network of young leaders, women, students, professionals, civil society actors, and community champions committed to advancing the implementation of United Nations Security Council Resolution (UNSCR) 2250 and the Women, Peace & Security (WPS) Agenda across Nigeria.

Successful applicants will be formally inducted and inaugurated during the:

6th Youth, Peace & Security (YPS) Conference 2026

Theme: Empowering Youth Through Skills, Entrepreneurship, and Innovation for Sustainable Peace and Inclusive Development

Day 26 – How APAF Is Advancing the YPS Agenda

Peace is not built by words alone, it is built through consistent action, partnerships and opportunities that empower young people to lead change.

At APAF Peace For All, we are translating the Youth, Peace and Security (YPS) Agenda into practical action through the Youth, Peace and Security (YPS) Conference, Empower Students for Peace & Sustainable Development (ESP-SD) Project, Peace Clubs, Youth Leadership Development, Climate Action initiatives, community engagement, and strategic partnerships. These initiatives are equipping young people with the knowledge, skills and platforms to become active peacebuilders and responsible leaders across Nigeria.

Social media is more than a platform for entertainment, it is a powerful tool for building peace, promoting understanding and inspiring positive action. Every post, comment and share has the potential to either unite people or deepen division. As young peacebuilders, we all have a responsibility to use our digital voices wisely.

The Youth, Peace and Security (YPS) Agenda recognizes the important role young people play in shaping peaceful and inclusive societies. By rejecting hate speech, verifying information before sharing, promoting respectful dialogue and amplifying positive stories, we can transform social media into a space that encourages hope, tolerance and collaboration.

At APAF Peace For All, we are empowering young people to become responsible digital citizens through the Youth, Peace and Security (YPS) Conference, Empower Students for Peace & Sustainable Development (ESP-SD) Project, Peace Clubs, and other youth-led initiatives that promote peace both online and offline.
