🚨 RELIGIOUS TENSIONS: FO RB COMMITTEE CALLS FOR RESTRAINT

At a time when inflammatory religious rhetoric and unverified information can spread within minutes, the Committee for Freedom of Religion or Belief (FoRB) is calling for restraint, responsibility and peace.

The committee cautions religious and community leaders against statements that could inflame existing tensions, divide communities or put innocent lives at risk.

The committee, operating under the Strengthening Women Interfaith Leadership for Human Rights, Transitional Justice and Democratic Stability project, said recent verbal exchanges and religiously charged rhetoric among some leaders were capable of undermining peace and social cohesion.

"Religion should be a source of guidance, compassion, healing and unity—not a weapon for division."
