MENSTRUAL HEALTH AND HYGIENE DAY (MHD.2026): YAHSII EMPOWERS STUDENTS OF GOVERNMENT JUNIOR SECONDARY SCHOOL KAKURI, KADUNA.
With funding partnership from Passion Care Specialist Clinic, https://www.facebook.com/share/18oFnjXUZY/ the youths and Adolescence health sensitization international initiative Yahsi Nigeria have engaged and empowered students of Government junior secondary school Kakuri in the Kaduna metropolis city of Kaduna state. This engagement is in commemoration of this years menstrual health and hygiene day 2026.
During the program, the advocacy and policy coordinator of Yahsii, Mrs.Henrietta charged the female students to maintain high level of hygiene during their menstruation. This includes the use and proper disposal of sanitary materials and a bath at least twice daily. She equally demonstrated the right way to fix a sanitary pad to an underwear.
Mrs. Henrietta further enlightened the male students on the concept of menstruation and its biological significance to human existence. This is to correct the notion around this all important physiological process as a taboo. She however enjoined the male folks to show support and care to their female classmates and indeed, every menstruating women that they come in contact with especially at the critical period of their me**es.
Yahsii provided a pack of sanitary pads and a piece of educational hand flyers on adequate menstrual health and hygienic practices each to all students and teachers in attendance.
