The Menstrual Hygiene Day event was a resounding success. We're thrilled to have worked with an incredible team and honored to have had representatives from the Ministry of Environment and natural resources and Ministry of Health join us.

Our nurse speaker shared invaluable insights on maintaining good menstrual hygiene, dispelling myths and promoting healthy habits. Our doctor speaker highlighted the importance of menstrual health in overall well-being and advocated for increased access to resources.

To commemorate the Menstrual Hygiene Day, organized by Adolescent Girls Initiative for Reproductive Health Liberty (A'GIRHL) we aim to gather to break down stigmas, promote awareness, and advocate for menstrual health and hygiene. We're honored to have two esteemed speakers joining us:

Dr. Saratu Abel Buba, a renowned expert in sexual and reproductive health, will share valuable insights on menstrual health and its impact on women's well-being.

BNsc David Martina, a dedicated nurse and menstrual health advocate, will provide practical guidance on maintaining good menstrual hygiene and promoting healthy habits.

Through their expertise and passion, we'll explore ways to create a more supportive and inclusive environment for all individuals to manage their menstrual health with dignity. Let's get started and make a difference

28th May 2025 is Menstrual Hygiene Day 🌟 Let's break the silence and shatter the stigma surrounding menstruation. Every girl deserves access to safe, hygienic, and dignified menstrual care 🚽💯. Let's work together to:

Myth: Only disposable pads are safe
Facts: There are other safer options like the menstrual cups and reusable pads

Reusable pads are an eco-friendly and sustainable alternative to disposable pads. They're made from natural fibers like cotton, bamboo, or h**p, and can be washed and reused multiple times.

Benefits

1. Reduce waste and minimize the environmental impact of disposable pads.
2. Although initial costs may be higher, reusable pads can save money in the long run.
3. Many users find reusable pads to be more breathable and comfortable than disposable ones.
4. Only requires washing and drying properly

There's a myth surrounding Menstruation. Alot of people think that the menstrual blood is bad blood/dirty blood but it is not.

The lining of the uterus, thickens each month to support a potential pregnancy.

If pregnancy does not occur and the egg is not fertilized, the thickened lining breaks down and is shed through the va**na, resulting in menstrual bleeding.

Please share this to create awareness and help us debunk the myth.
