Group Stages Come to a Close! The Grand Finale Awaits!

The Kuje Area Council brought the group stages to a thrilling conclusion, providing a platform for students to showcase their spelling skills. The group stages of the FCT Abuja Spelling Bee Competition have concluded, showcasing exceptional spelling skills among students from various Area Councils. The Kuje Area Council's session marked the final leg, with talented spellers vying for a spot in the grand finale.

Junior Spellers' Achievement

Two junior spellers emerged victorious, qualifying for the finals after successfully navigating 10 rounds and correctly spelling six words. Their dedication and linguistic prowess have set the stage for an exciting finale.

Senior Spellers' Showcase

The senior category witnessed intense competition among 27 spellers. The top performers demonstrated remarkable spelling skills, securing their places in the finals. Their hard work and determination will undoubtedly make the finale a thrilling experience.

The Road to the Finals

With spellers from all four Area Councils in Abuja having participated, the competition has been fierce. Today Child Education and Skills Initiative is eagerly anticipating the finale, expecting an unforgettable display of linguistic excellence.

The Gwagwalada Area Council’s FCT Abuja Spelling Bee Competition

Congratulations to All!

The Gwagwalada Area Council's Spelling Bee Competition on July 12, 2025, was a resounding success! Despite initial expectations, the event drew impressive participation, showcasing the enthusiasm and determination of young spellers.

A Special Mention

Whiteplain British School's unexpected participation was a highlight, demonstrating their commitment to the competition. Their two spellers rose to the challenge, navigating ten rounds and qualifying for the finals on October 1, 2025.

Senior Category Shines

The senior category competition was equally impressive, with participants showcasing their spelling prowess despite the increased difficulty level. Two spellers stood out, correctly spelling all their words, while others demonstrated remarkable skill, with only minor errors.

INVITATION TO THE MAIDEN EDITION OF FCT SPELLING BEE COMPETITION

Dear Directors, Principals, Schools Admin, Parents, Guidance and Counselors,

We are thrilled to invite your students to participate in the inaugural FCT Spelling Bee Competition! This exciting event aims to promote literacy, vocabulary, and healthy competition among students.

We cordially invite your school to join this prestigious event, designed to provide an enriching experience for your students. Our goal is to help improve their spelling and vocabulary skills, fostering a lifelong love of learning.

The competition is organized by Today Child Education and Skills Initiative, in conjunction with Kada City Interschools Competition (KCIC), renowned for hosting the annual Kaduna State Spelling Bee for the past seven years.

FCT Spelling Bee Competition Categories: We are excited to announce that the FCT Spelling Bee Competition will feature two categories:
Category 1: Junior Spellers (Ages 7-11)
a) Open to students aged 7-11
b) Designed to promote early literacy and vocabulary skills
Category 2: Senior Spellers (Ages 12-15)
a) Open to students aged 12-15
b) Designed to challenge advanced spellers and promote excellence in language skills
Participants will compete within their respective age categories, ensuring a fun and fair competition for all.

Registration Details
1. Dateline: Registration is currently ongoing and will close on 7th June, 2025.
2. Participating Fee: N10, 000.00 per Participant (Covering Spelling Bee materials (Spelling It Now Booklet), and certificate of participation)
3. Online Registration: Register online from our website: https://kcicspellingbee.org/competition/registration/
4. Payment: Payment should be made directly on the website or through the bank account details provided on our website registration link page.
5. Evidence of Payment: Forward evidence of payment to the management on this WhatsApp number: 07083338840.
6. Dates and Venues: To Be Announced First Week of July. 2025

Provision for less Privilege: Today Child Education and Skills Initiative is offering free slots to all schools, especially those that cannot afford to register their students due to financial constraints. This opportunity allows one talented student from each interested school to participate in the Maiden Edition of the FCT Spelling Bee competition. To Register, Fill the Scholarship for on our website.

Group States: The group stages of the competition will cover the six Area Councils of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja, which are, Area Councils:
1. Abaji Area Council
2. Bwari Area Council
3. Gwagwalada Area Council
4. Kuje Area Council
5. Kwali Area Council
6. Municipal Area Council

Group Stage Format:
1. Group allocation: Teams will be allocated to each Area Council
2. Competition: Spellers s will compete against each other within their allocated group
3. Winners: The top ten (10) best from each group will advance to the final stage of the competition

Proposed Dates for the Competition: We are pleased to announce the proposed dates for the competition:
1. June: Two Saturday (14th, 28th June 2025)

3. Qualifiers: The top 10 qualifiers from each of the six Area Councils will participate, making a total of 60 pupils/students
