Re: Tuk Ham Festival 2026: Notice of Postponement

At the direction and Royal
counsel His Highness Kpop Ham Dr. Danladi Gyet Maude OON the Tuk Ham Cultural Festival of 2026 has been postponed. The Ham Development Association (HAMDA) Caretaker Committee has been duly informed. This is to allow for proper planning and for us to solemnly observe the Easter period in marking the death and resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ.

The Traditional Council in conjunction with the Hamda Development Association Caretaker Committee invites suggestions from all sons and daughters of Hamland on an alternative period for future hosting of this epoch making festival which could take place but not during the Easter period - going forward.

The Nok Civilisation is one of the oldest in the world. Tuk Ham Festival should attract involvement and participants beyond Ham sons and daughters in Nigeria to include those in the global Diaspora. Those in the Diplomatic Corp who have long recognized the Nok Civilisation whose origin is from Ham land should be effectively involved. Added to this our brothers and sisters from within the Middlebelt and friends of Ham people in Nigeria and globally should be invited to witness our rich cultural heritage.

We recognize that initial preparations had commenced but more needed to be done. In the light of this postponement, we regret any inconveniences this might cause. But the decision is a welcomed development for a renewed Tuk Ham Festival and the global Status it deserves. We will prayerfully and consultatively commence earnest planning for the 2027 Tuk Ham Festival. God bless Hamland and its people.

2026 NCE Weekend Programme Admission Now Open:

The Kaduna State College of Education, Gidan Waya (Sabon Sarki Study Centre, Kachia Local Government Area) has officially commenced the sale of admission forms for the 2026 NCE Weekend Programme.

The Weekend Programme is specifically designed to provide flexible and accessible teacher education for working-class individuals, school leavers, unqualified teachers, civil servants, business owners, and other qualified candidates who desire to obtain the Nigeria Certificate in Education (NCE) without disrupting their weekday commitments.

Lectures will hold strictly on weekends, allowing students to balance work, family responsibilities, and academic advancement.
Available Courses

The following courses will be offered at the Sabon Sarki Study Centre:

Biology/Integrated Science
Biology/Chemistry
Biology/Geography
Agricultural Science (Double Major)
Early Childhood Care Education (ECCE)
Primary Education Studies (PES)
Christian Religious Studies/Social Studies
English/Social Studies
Hausa/Islamic Studies
Economics/Social Studies

The NCE qualification remains a recognized and nationally accepted professional teaching certificate and also provides eligibility for Direct Entry admission into degree programmes in Nigerian universities.

Entry Requirements
Applicants must possess SSCE, WAEC, NECO, NABTEB, or GCE with the required credit passes in relevant subjects.

Children gathered around piles of dirty plates at a party… not to wash them — but to scrape leftovers meant for the sink.

Let that sink in.

Food already considered waste… becomes their meal.

This isn’t poverty anymore.

This is hunger in plain sight.

A Country where politicians celebrate “empowerment programs,” where parties overflow with rice and meat, yet Children fight over scraps like this.

No child should have to eat from abandoned plates.

No society should normalize this.

When a nation has abundance at the top and scavenging at the bottom, something is deeply broken.
