FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
‎CNG Kaduna Urges State Government to Prioritise Road Infrastructure

‎Kaduna, Nigeria — The Kaduna State Chapter of the Coalition of Northern Groups (CNG) has called on the Kaduna State Government to give greater priority to road infrastructure, citing the deteriorating condition of many roads across the state.

‎In a statement on Tuesday, the group acknowledged the government’s efforts in beautifying roundabouts and installing streetlights but expressed concern that such aesthetic projects should not take precedence over the rehabilitation and reconstruction of critical road networks.

‎According to the group, the poor state of roads is affecting economic activities and posing safety risks to motorists and other road users.

‎“The condition of many roads across the state continues to hinder movement, increase the cost of transportation, and threaten the safety of citizens.

‎We believe that functional road infrastructure should be treated as a priority,” the statement said.
‎The CNG called on the state government to take urgent steps to:

‎1-Rehabilitate and reconstruct dilapidated roads across the state;

‎2-Place greater emphasis on road infrastructure in its development agenda;

‎3-Engage citizens and stakeholders to identify priority areas; and

‎4-Provide regular updates on ongoing and planned road projects.

‎The group expressed optimism that a renewed focus on infrastructure would enhance economic growth and improve the quality of life of residents.
