To Our Gracious , Esteemed Partners, and Friends,

Happy New Month of December 2025!

This is the Lord’s doing, and it is truly marvelous in our sight. May His Name be highly exalted and magnified in every breath we take.

As we step into the twelfth and final month of 2025, I welcome you to a wondrous season of “Decoration for Royalty and Dominion”—a time when we acknowledge the authority and glory that belong to Jesus alone. Amen.

Let us continue to spread Love, Forgiveness, and Reconciliation, irrespective of the differences in our faith.

Many notable personalities have spoken about the connection between love, forgiveness and reconciliation. Bryant H. McGill stated that there is "No love without forgiveness, and there is no forgiveness without love". Martin Luther King Jr. emphasized that the ability to forgive is essential to the capacity to love. Others like Robert Muller and Mother Teresa also highlighted forgiveness as a beautiful form of love and a necessary part of loving.

In addition, Chesa Boudin noted that reconciliation and forgiveness lead to healthier and happier lives. Leo Tolstoy stated that forgiving each other is key to living in peace.

Let us therefore, continue to work together to build an inclusive, peaceful, productive, and prosperous world for all.

May we stay connected for extraordinary empowerment and transformative updates that will shape the future.

Once again, welcome to December 2025!

With utmost gratitude and devotion,

Amb. Dr. CLETUS OKOH

A Miraculous Testimony: 11 Years After My Escape From Boko Haram Attack At Mubi

Today, November 2, 2025, marks 11 years since I was miraculously rescued from the clutches of death during the Boko Haram attack and capture of the city of Mubi, Adamawa State, Nigeria.

For five harrowing days, I was trapped in the house, with no access to basic necessities like food, communication, electricity, or banking. But through divine guidance and protection, I escaped, and later, disengaged from my Lecturing job at the Federal Polytechnic, Mubi due to Post Disaster Trauma Disorder experience.

My Journey from Death to Life

For the five days and five nights, from Wednesday, October 29, 2014, when they struck at about 3:00Pm, with sounds of sporadic shootings and massive explosions all over the city to Sunday, November 2, 2014, I thought that as usual, all residents, went into hiding in their houses, but I was wrong.

I did not know they ran away from the city, including the Emir of Mubi Emirate and the personnel of Nigerian Army. In the process of their escape, some people were captured and killed, with their cars burnt, while some lost their certificates and credentials

The terrorists group took over the city, patrolling on horses, cars, motorcycles, bicycles and on foot.

Through divine instructions to go to Cameroun, and with divine directions and guidance, by 2:00Pm, that fateful day, I left my apartment into the scorching sun without having a clear knowledge of where my destination was located, let alone knowing how to safely and securely navigate the streets, walls and forest jungles between Mubi and Cameroun.

However, the Spirit of the Almighty God guided me, providing instructions, direction, protection, and provisions throughout my additional two days journey. Today, I'm alive to share my story and testimony.

A Tribute to Fallen Heroes and Victims

Since then, many military officers and foot soldiers have lost their lives in the line of duty. Additionally, many innocent lives have been lost, communities ravaged, children made orphans, women turned widows, and many driven from their homes and farmland, currently living in Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) camps without adequate care.

As long as I live, I will continue to raise my voice to promote justice and peace, end insecurity and advocate for adequate care for victims of violence and conflicts.

My Story in My Words

I've documented my experience in a book, "Rescued from the Valley of Death: How I Escaped From Boko Haram Terrorists Attacks in Mubi." As a devotee of the Christian Faith, Psalm 124:1-8 resonates deeply with my experience, reminding me of God's faithfulness:

1 If the Lord had not been on our side— let Israel say—
2 if the Lord had not been on our side when people attacked us,
3 they would have swallowed us alive when their anger flared against us;
4 the flood would have engulfed us, the torrent would have swept over us,
5 the raging waters would have swept us away.
6 Praise be to the Lord, who has not let us be torn by their teeth.
7 We have escaped like a bird from the fowler’s snare; the snare has been broken, and we have escaped.
8 Our help is in the name of the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth.

Gratitude and Appreciation

I thank the Lord for His faithfulness and miraculous interventions. I also appreciate the kindness and support of family, friends, and well-meaning individuals.

The Deception of Polished Poverty in Nigeria

By Amb. Dr. Cletus Okoh

"When a nation's growth rise on paper but its people sink in hunger, that is not progress - it is polished poverty wearing a mask of statistics." -George O. Sylvester

As I deeply reflect on the 2025 International Day for the Eradication of Poverty (IDEP), held on October 17 every year, George O. Sylvester's quote cuts to the heart of a disturbing reality across Africa, especially in Nigeria: a nation's progress cannot be measured solely by its economic growth or statistical achievements. When a nation's growth rises on paper, but its people sink in hunger, that is not progress - it is polished poverty wearing a mask of statistics.

The Illusion of Progress

In today's Nigeria, we are often fed a narrative of progress and development. We hear about rising Gross Domestic Products (GDPs), increasing foreign investments, and growing economies. But beneath the surface, a different story is unfolding:

- A story of people struggling to make ends meet;

- A story of families going hungry with malnourished children; and

- A story of communities marginalized, being left behind.

The Human Cost of Inequality

Polished poverty is a phenomenon where a nation's economic growth is not translating into better living standards for its citizens. It is a situation where the benefits of growth are concentrated in the hands of a few, while the majority are left to suffer.

This is not just a moral issue; it is a ticking time bomb that can destabilize societies and undermine the very fabric of a nation such as a democratic setting like Nigeria.

Beyond Statistics

We need to look beyond the statistics and examine the human cost of inequality. We need to ask ourselves:

- What is the point of economic growth if it does not translate into better lives for our people?

- What is the value of progress if it leaves our most vulnerable citizens behind?

A Call to Action

George O. Sylvester's quote is a wake-up call to policymakers, leaders, and citizens alike. It is a reminder that true progress is not just about numbers on a page, but about the lives of real people.

It is a call to action to re-examine our priorities, to rethink our policies, and to reimagine a future where economic growth is not just a statistic, but a reality that benefits all.

Breaking the Mask

To break the mask of polished poverty, we need to:

- Prioritize People Over Profits: We must ensure that economic growth benefits all citizens, not just the privileged few.

- Invest in Human Capital: We must provide access to quality education, healthcare, and social services that empower people to thrive.

- Address Inequality: We must implement policies that reduce income inequality and promote social mobility.

- Measure Progress Differently: We must embrace and use alternative metrics that capture the well-being of citizens, not just economic growth.

Let us not be fooled by polished poverty.

Let us strive for a sustainable future where growth and progress is not just a statistic, but a reality that benefits all.

May God save Nigeria, especially our vulnerable communities!

World Teachers’ Day is celebrated globally every year on October 5th to recognize and honour the invaluable contributions of teachers to education, development, and society. Established in 1994 by UNESCO, in partnership with the International Labour Organization (ILO), UNICEF, and Education International (EI), the day commemorates the signing of the 1966 ILO/UNESCO Recommendation concerning the Status of Teachers. This landmark document set international standards for the rights, responsibilities, and working conditions of teachers.

• To advocate for investment in teacher development, welfare, and empowerment worldwide.

𝗚𝗹𝗼𝗯𝗮𝗹 𝗜𝗺𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲
World Teachers’ Day is observed in more than 100 countries, making it the largest global recognition of the teaching profession. It provides an opportunity to:

In Africa, teachers face unique challenges — large classroom sizes, limited resources, and the urgent need for digital skills. Disaster Risk Reduction Awareness: A Guide to Inverter Safety

Amb. Dr. Cletus Okoh

The devastating fire outbreak at the Afriland Towers on Broad Street, Lagos Island on Tuesday, September 16, 2025, resulted in loss of lives and properties, leaving families and communities in mourning. I am deeply concerned as an International Health, Safety and Environmental (IHSE) Ambassador.

According to reports the six-storey high-rise building housed a branch of the United Bank of Africa (UBA), Federal Inland Revenue service (FIRS,), amongst other companies.

This tragic incident underscores the importance of disaster risk reduction and highlights the potential dangers of inverter systems if not properly handled.

Key Takeaways from the Incident

- The fire outbreak originated in the inverter room, located in the basement of the building.

- The incident emphasizes the crucial need for proper inverter installation, maintenance, and safety precautions.

Safety Precautions for Inverter Users

To minimize the risk of accidents, follow these essential safety tips:

1. Good Ventilation: Ensure inverters and batteries are in well-ventilated areas to prevent overheating.

2. Avoid Flammable Items: Keep petrol, papers, curtains, and other flammable materials away from the inverter room.

3. Proper Installation: Engage a qualified technician for installation, ensuring correct wiring and cable sizing.

4. Load Management: Avoid overloading the inverter with appliances beyond its capacity.

5. Battery Check: Regularly inspect batteries for leaks, corrosion, or swelling, replacing weak ones promptly.

6. Safety Gear: Use circuit breakers, fuses, and surge protectors, and keep a fire extinguisher (CO₂ type) nearby.

7. Routine Maintenance: Regularly inspect and maintain the inverter system, addressing issues promptly.

General Safety Tips

- Always engage a professional for inverter installation, checks, and maintenance.

- Use original equipment from reputable manufacturers.

- Avoid using fake or substandard materials, which can increase the risk of accidents.

Stay Safe, Share with Others
Don't wait until it's too late!

Share this vital information with family, friends, and colleagues to promote inverter safety and disaster risk reduction awareness.

Remember

Prevention is better and cheaper than cure. Stay safe, and let's live responsibly and wisely! Think Safety First!
