Yesterday was a truly impactful and inspiring day, as we had the privilege of training young girls and widows of police officers on menstrual hygiene and the production of reusable sanitary pads.
This initiative, generously funded by the Rotary Club in collaboration with the Police Officers’ Wives Association (POWA), was more than just a training. It was a step toward dignity, empowerment, and sustainable health practices for women and girls in our community.
Participants were not only educated on proper menstrual hygiene management, but were also equipped with practical skills to produce reusable pads. This knowledge will go a long way in reducing period poverty, promoting confidence, and ensuring that no girl misses opportunities due to lack of access to sanitary products.
We were especially honored by the full participation and support of the AIG and his wife, whose presence further emphasized the importance of this cause and encouraged active engagement from all attendees.
The smiles, enthusiasm, and eagerness to learn reminded us why initiatives like this matter. We are not just sharing knowledge, we are building confidence, restoring dignity, and creating opportunities for sustainable living.
Together, we are making a difference, one life, one skill, one empowered woman at a time.
