Join the Movement: Say No to Single-Use Plastics
Today, I had the privilege of meeting with Hajia Bintu Kolo, the Director of Partnership and Education for the National Environmental Standards and Regulations Enforcement Agency (NESREA) and a passionate Global Ambassador for Climate Change. Our discussion focused on NESREA's pivotal role in supporting the UniJos One Million Tree Planting Project—a bold step toward environmental sustainability. In a gesture that spoke volumes about her commitment to this cause, Hajia Kolo gifted me a reusable water bottle, encouraging me (and all of us) to break free from our reliance on single-use plastics like bottled and sachet water.
This initiative aligns perfectly with the United Nations' theme for the year: the elimination of plastics. It’s not just a campaign; it’s a call to action. Every day, millions of plastic bottles and sachets are discarded, polluting our environment, harming wildlife, and contributing to the global climate crisis. But here’s the good news: we have the power to make a difference—one refillable bottle at a time.
Imagine this: By switching to a reusable water bottle, you’re not only saving money as the heat intensifies but also taking a stand against the devastating effects of plastic pollution. You’ll help reduce the mountains of waste choking our planet and protect ecosystems for future generations.
Let’s be inspired by leaders like Hajia Kolo, who remind us that small changes can lead to monumental impacts. So, why wait? Get yourself a durable, stylish water bottle today. Carry it wherever you go, and let it serve as a symbol of your commitment to a cleaner, greener world.
Together, we can eliminate single-use plastics and pave the way for a sustainable future. The choice is ours—let’s choose wisely. 🌍💧
Act now. Refill, reuse, and revolutionize the way we treat our planet.
