The countdown is on! From November 5–7, 2025, the Jos Community Film Festival (JOCOFFEST) returns for its 3rd Edition at Gyel Community Hall, Jos.

This year’s festival is dedicated to strengthening the Nigerian film industry by placing communities at the heart of its growth. With a focus on innovation, market sustainability, and community-driven opportunities, JOCOFFEST 2025 promises a dynamic three-day experience.

Festival Highlights

* Film Screenings: Powerful stories reflecting community voices and market realities.
* Workshops & Masterclasses: Practical training in cinematic technology, content creation, special effects, drone operations, and even soap making as a model for community-based enterprise.
* Community Events: Including a Junior Golf Tournament to inspire youth engagement and link film with broader cultural platforms.

JOCOFFEST Strengthens Ties with Plateau State Tourism Corporation

Date: 5/03/25

The Jos Community Film Festival (JOCOFFEST)* continues to foster strong collaborations with key stakeholders, reaffirming its commitment to promoting arts, culture, and tourism in Plateau State. In recognition of its valuable support, JOCOFFEST recently presented a Certificate of Appreciation and Partnership to the Plateau State Tourism Corporation.

During the presentation, the Managing Director of the Plateau State Tourism Corporation expressed his delight in receiving the certificate, emphasizing the importance of continued collaboration. He commended JOCOFFEST’s efforts in promoting local and international storytelling, stating that the festival has become a vital platform for showcasing the creative potential of Plateau State.

In response, Prof. Edward Ossai, Founder and Convener of JOCOFFEST, expressed deep appreciation for the corporation’s support and reaffirmed the festival’s commitment to strengthening Plateau’s creative and tourism industries. “This partnership is instrumental in positioning Plateau as a film-friendly destination. JOCOFFEST is not just about films; it’s about building a cultural identity and empowering creatives. We look forward to making each edition bigger and better together,” he said.

With this strengthened collaboration, JOCOFFEST aims to expand its reach, attract more filmmakers, and create greater opportunities for creatives in the region. As preparations begin for the next edition, JOCOFFEST invites more stakeholders, sponsors, and film enthusiasts to join in building a bigger, bolder, and more impactful festival.

The stage is being set once again as The Jos Community Film Festival (JOCOFFEST)returns for its highly anticipated second edition, themed: Interrogating the Now and Predicting the Future. From November 6th to 8th, 2024, this year’s festival is diving into film’s power to reflect contemporary issues and shape visions of tomorrow. This edition is promising an unparalleled experience of creativity, insight, and inspiration.

Festival attendees are preparing for an immersive program designed to both challenge and captivate:
- FILM SCREENINGS – A curated selection of impactful films, each chosen to provoke thought, spark dialogue, and encourage introspection.
- MASTERCLASSES– Industry icons are leading in-depth sessions on essential aspects of filmmaking: cinematography, makeup/special effects, scriptwriting, music, and dance, offering exclusive insights and practical skills from renowned practitioners.

It's HAPPENING again!!! The Jos Community Film Festival (JOCOFFEST) presents its second edition: Interrogating the Now and Predicting the Future. The 2024 edition will feature Film screening, master classes in cinematography, film directing, script writing, music and dance to be facilitated by renowned industry practitioners. Side attractions include Arts exhibition by the Society of Nigerian Artists, Plateau State branch. Date : 6th-8th November 2024.
