This year’s International Women’s Day theme, “Give to Gain,” reminds us that when we support women through education, opportunities, advocacy, and resources, everyone benefits. As quoted by , “Giving is not a subtraction, it’s intentional multiplication. When women thrive, we all rise.” So giving is not a loss but a multiplication that drives collective progress.

At Claire Aid Foundation, we are committed to ensuring that women and girls have equal opportunities to fully realize their rights and reach their potential. Through our work, we believe in taking action that promotes Rights, Justice, and opportunities for ALL women and girls. Communities grow stronger when women are empowered.

At Claire Aid Foundation (CAF), the safety of our learners, staff, and communities is our non-negotiable priority. We strictly abide by Do No Harm principles, ensuring that in and during every intervention we seek to respect and protection of everyone involved. To keep these standards, we recently conducted a safeguarding training facilitated by Mrs. Melissa Yakubu the Regional Safeguarding Officer of World Renew, reinforcing our commitment to maintaining a secure environment for every life we touch.

Our commitment to healing is beautifully reflected in our ongoing “Strength from Weakness” workshop. Designed for 30 widows who recently transitioned from Trauma Healing, this initiative is a powerful testament to resilience. It provides a dedicated space where these women can transform their deepest vulnerabilities into collective power, gaining the emotional fortitude and community support necessary to navigate their futures with dignity.

Beyond emotional support, we are actively shaping the leaders of tomorrow through our Child Rights Club and Jebbu Miango Reads (JMR) literacy classes. Each Thursday at GSS Jebbu Miango, students engage in vital dialogues about their rights and responsibilities, while our literacy programs provide the fundamental reading and comprehension skills children need to thrive. These programs don’t just provide education; they build the confidence and self-advocacy skills essential for long-term impact.

The work CAF does is only possible through the generosity of people who believe in safety, literacy, and restoration. We invite you to support our ongoing programs as we continue to build a safer, more empowered community for widows, teenagers and children alike.

Last week, in partnership with Beacon Of Hope Initiative, we successfully hosted a 3-day trauma healing session (11th-13th Feb.) and a 1-day (16th Feb.) economic empowerment program for 30 widows in Jebbu Miango community.

Our trauma healing sessions provided a supportive environment for selected widows to process their grief and find a safe space for emotional release. For many, the path to healing had been blocked. some were never granted the privilege to mourn due to the circumstances of their loss, while others lacked closure because they never saw the remains of their spouses.

The depth of this impact was best captured when one widow shared, “If you do not give me any material thing, this session of healing is more than enough for me.” We are grateful for the profound healing witnessed during this time, reinforcing that restoring the spirit is as essential as any material aid.

The widows also received training and financial assistance to help them start small businesses to support themselves and their families.

At Claire Aid Foundation, we remain committed to ensuring that healing and dignity are at the forefront of every intervention we lead in Plateau State.

On Tuesday, 10th Feb. 2026, Hon. Samson Ishaku Bugama visited our resource centre with a generous support for 30 widows in our community of Jebbu Miango. He provided improved variety of avocado and mango economic trees, along with funds to also assist them. And with an expert, Mr. Langs who taught the widows how to plant and nurture the trees in the right way.

His vision is to contribute to the empowerment of widows who have lost their husband through planting economic fruit trees. This act, in the long run, will generate some disposal income to support their families. His act of kindness was born out of a personal burden in his heart to see widows stand strong and improve their standard of living

Thank you sir for your big heart and for taking this step without hesitation. May God bless you.

To commemorate the World Read Aloud Day 2026, we visited four schools in our community and read books aloud to the students. We experienced quick results as a number of them joined us at our resource center for the very first time. They enjoyed the read aloud sessions and want more.

Reading opens up a persons imagination. It helps children think beyond their environment and travel around the world through stories. They build vocabulary, confidence, and communication skills. They also begin to understand emotions and express their feelings. Most of all, reading becomes enjoyable, even for adults

Our mission continues, to reach rural children with literacy and help them fall in love with reading.

Read to discover. Read to explore. Read to travel the world.

Thank you for your continues support. Please keep praying for us and supporting this work.

Long before writing began, stories were passed down from one generation to another. Oral storytelling was the first way humans preserved knowledge, wisdom, and creativity. World Read Aloud Day brings this tradition back to life while promoting literacy.

In 2010, World Read Aloud Day was created by LitWorld in New York City. Inspired by a child, and it is celebrated on the first Wednesday of every February.

As we commemorated World Read Aloud Day, with the theme “Celebrate Learning.” We visited two schools in our community and read aloud to the children. We also encouraged parents and teachers to make reading aloud a regular habit for their children. We will continue to reach more schools in our community with read aloud.

Reading aloud brings the elements of language, connection, and storytelling. These shape a child’s world with words, ideas, learning, and love.

It is a powerful tool for brain development and connection. It helps to give children a strong foundation for life.

Today, January 24th 2026 is The International Day of Education. The 2026 IDOE reminds us that young people are agents of change.

We are working hard to empower our leaners to excel academically and play their roles in building peaceful, just, and inclusive societies. We believe the impact of our work with our learners can multiply and affect much more than we have been able to reach.

To our amazing team of teachers and our learners and all educators and children out there, we wish you a Happy International Day of Education.

May we all keep learning and growing.

Playing together is one of the most powerful ways to build strong relationships with our children.

Children need more than academics. They need connection.

Sadly, many parents don’t always know how to connect emotionally with their children. And this, affects their learning.

This Sunday, to commemorate the International Day of Education, we are putting together a Sip and Paint, together with our partners Custodians of African Literature - COAL and The Creo Tribe Lazham Gaina This event will bring Jebbu Miango Reads children and their parents together - Sitting side by side, looking into each other’s eyes, smiling, laughing, playing, and creating memories that will leave an imprint for years to come.

We invite you to be part of this moment.
