The leadership of the Plateau Association of the Deaf-PAD had a fruitful engagement with the Head of Civil Service on Tuesday March 17th, 2026.

Speaking during the advocacy visit paid to the Head of Civil Service, the President of the association Mr. Satzen Boniface Longpan conveyed his deepest appreciation to the Head of Civil Service through his Permanent secretary for the opportunity given to inreract with the agency.

He further presented the contributions of numerous deaf individuals in the state as well as the challenges, and ways that government can intervent to mitigate those challenges.

The Head of Service who was represented by his Permanent Secretary warmly welcomed the group and promised to present all the demands made by PAD leadership to his boss and pledged his commitment to further push for the actualization of those demands.

The Plateau Association of the Deaf-PAD is deeply saddened by the unfortunate deaths of miners in Kampani, Wase LGA, and the mindless and brutal killings in Garga, Kanam LGA.

We extend our heartfelt condolences to the affected communities while calling on the Government of Plateau State to intensify a stronger security and protections in all these affected areas to continue to protect the vulnerable.
