โA hospital bed should never be a place of loneliness, especially during Christmas. No one should feel forgotten, especially at Christmas.โ
Her Excellency, Hajiya Dr. Lami Ahmadu Fintiri, brought the true spirit of the Yuletide to patients through a generous donation of food items and cash, ensuring that healing hearts also felt joy this festive season.
On a calm Christmas day, Her Excellency Hajiya Dr. Lami Ahmadu Fintiri visited the hospital wards, not as a dignitary or public figure, but as a compassionate mother with a caring heart.
While many gathered at home with family and friends, she chose to spend the season of love with those whose Christmas was unfolding on hospital beds.
In a season defined by love, hope, and compassion, the Wife of the Governor of Adamawa State once again demonstrated that leadership is best expressed through kindness. Her thoughtful gesture was aimed at helping patients celebrate Christmas with dignity, despite being confined to hospital beds.
Moving gently from ward to ward, Hajiya Lami shared warm smiles, kind words, and heartfelt prayers with patients.
Her presence alone lifted spirits, reminding them that they were not forgotten, even in moments of pain and uncertainty. The atmosphere changed as hope replaced worry, and gratitude filled the air.
She made a cash donation to the patients, offering practical support to help meet their immediate needs during the festive period. The gesture was more than financial assistance; it was a message of empathy, reassurance, and shared humanity.
The donations were presented on her behalf by the wives of Commissioners, led by Mrs. Charity Babadoke and Hajiya Zainab Yayaji Mijinyawa, who moved from ward to ward, sharing gifts, warm words, and encouragement with patients and their families.
Speaking on behalf of the Medical Director, Dr. Wadinga Dauda, the Assistant Director of Nursing Services, Mrs. Tanee James, expressed deep appreciation to Her Excellency.
She noted that patients are among the most vulnerable members of society and deserve care, love, and attention, especially during festive periods. She described the gesture as timely, heartfelt, and deeply comforting to those receiving treatment.
The atmosphere became even more emotional when Mallam Ishaka Audu Malabu, speaking on behalf of the patients, praised Hajiya Lami Fintiri for her rare compassion and consistency in supporting the less privileged.
In a lighthearted yet sincere remark, he said her kindness alone could earn her the mandate of the people, adding that only God Almighty can fully reward such selfless service.
Patients and caregivers alike expressed deep appreciation for the visit, describing it as a rare act of kindness that brought comfort and joy at a time when it was needed most. For many, the visit turned a difficult Christmas into a memorable one.
Through this simple yet powerful act, Hajiya Lami Fintiri once again showed that true leadership is rooted in compassion, choosing to stand with the vulnerable, celebrate with the sick, and spread hope where it matters most.
As smiles replaced worries and prayers filled the hospital halls, the Yuletide outreach once again reflected Hajiya Lami Fintiriโs unwavering commitment to humanity, a reminder that Christmas is not just about celebration, but about sharing hope, easing pain, and touching lives with love.
