Her Excellency, Hajiya Dr. Lami Ahmadu Fintiri, brought the true spirit of the Yuletide to patients through a generous donation of food items and cash, ensuring that healing hearts also felt joy this festive season.

On a calm Christmas day, Her Excellency Hajiya Dr. Lami Ahmadu Fintiri visited the hospital wards, not as a dignitary or public figure, but as a compassionate mother with a caring heart.

While many gathered at home with family and friends, she chose to spend the season of love with those whose Christmas was unfolding on hospital beds.

In a season defined by love, hope, and compassion, the Wife of the Governor of Adamawa State once again demonstrated that leadership is best expressed through kindness. Her thoughtful gesture was aimed at helping patients celebrate Christmas with dignity, despite being confined to hospital beds.

Moving gently from ward to ward, Hajiya Lami shared warm smiles, kind words, and heartfelt prayers with patients.

Her presence alone lifted spirits, reminding them that they were not forgotten, even in moments of pain and uncertainty. The atmosphere changed as hope replaced worry, and gratitude filled the air.

She made a cash donation to the patients, offering practical support to help meet their immediate needs during the festive period. The gesture was more than financial assistance; it was a message of empathy, reassurance, and shared humanity.

The donations were presented on her behalf by the wives of Commissioners, led by Mrs. Charity Babadoke and Hajiya Zainab Yayaji Mijinyawa, who moved from ward to ward, sharing gifts, warm words, and encouragement with patients and their families.

Speaking on behalf of the Medical Director, Dr. Wadinga Dauda, the Assistant Director of Nursing Services, Mrs. Tanee James, expressed deep appreciation to Her Excellency.

She noted that patients are among the most vulnerable members of society and deserve care, love, and attention, especially during festive periods. She described the gesture as timely, heartfelt, and deeply comforting to those receiving treatment.

The atmosphere became even more emotional when Mallam Ishaka Audu Malabu, speaking on behalf of the patients, praised Hajiya Lami Fintiri for her rare compassion and consistency in supporting the less privileged.

In a lighthearted yet sincere remark, he said her kindness alone could earn her the mandate of the people, adding that only God Almighty can fully reward such selfless service.

Patients and caregivers alike expressed deep appreciation for the visit, describing it as a rare act of kindness that brought comfort and joy at a time when it was needed most. For many, the visit turned a difficult Christmas into a memorable one.

Through this simple yet powerful act, Hajiya Lami Fintiri once again showed that true leadership is rooted in compassion, choosing to stand with the vulnerable, celebrate with the sick, and spread hope where it matters most.

As smiles replaced worries and prayers filled the hospital halls, the Yuletide outreach once again reflected Hajiya Lami Fintiriโ€™s unwavering commitment to humanity, a reminder that Christmas is not just about celebration, but about sharing hope, easing pain, and touching lives with love.

The Making of Nigeriaโ€™s First Firstlady with a love for the streets!

Emmanuel Bello

The wife of our amiable governor, Her Excellency, Mrs Patience Agyin Kefas, is a full vibe on her own. Hardly do you see other top-level spouses of big men hit the streets like this very unassuming mother of the state.

She combines a rare sense of leadership and a deep devotion to people'needsed to emerge as the Mother Theresa of our time. You also suddenly think of her as the legendary Lady Diana.

Her outreaches on the streets underscore the importance of direct support to citizens. She goes beyond highfalutin ' policies to the practical display of welfarism to students, widows, and small businesses. When she is not advocating fowomen'sen and children's rights or collaborating to strengthen family courts, mummy (as she is fondly called) is on the streets to test the strength of theories. She gives, not in a condescending manner, but as a sympathetic caregiver. Her gifts are not mere giveaways but a true extension of her generosity. Her street crusade is thus anchored on something deeper: the love for God and people. She deserves her flowers.

Her Excellency Hajiya Dr. Lami Ahmadu Fintiri the Wife of the Governor of Adamawa State and National Vice Chairperson of the First Ladies Against Cancer (FLAC), used the occasion to make a touching gesture of support to cancer patients.

Through her pet project, the Fresh Air Pro-Life Empowerment Foundation, Her Excellency donated the sum of โ‚ฆ2 million to support ten cancer patients, each receiving โ‚ฆ200,000 to assist with their ongoing treatment and care, a gesture that reminds them they are not alone in their journey toward recovery.

Dr. Lami Fintiri noted that the programme was not just about health education but about inspiring hope and empathy.โ€œEvery womanโ€™s story is unique, and every journey in the fight against cancer truly matters,โ€ she said.

โ€œWe are here today to encourage early screening, promote timely diagnosis, and ensure equal access to treatment for all women, because health is a right, not a privilege.โ€

She emphasized that breast cancer remains one of the leading causes of death among women globally and that awareness is the first step toward saving lives.

โ€œLove yourself enough to care for your health. Donโ€™t ignore changes in your body. Go for regular checkups. Talk to your doctor. Early action can save your life,โ€ she urged.

Her Excellency called for collective action from government, medical professionals, and communities to create a society where no woman dies from a preventable disease.

โ€œLet us renew our commitment to building a future where awareness becomes a lifestyle, and where every woman no matter her background has access to care and compassion,โ€ she added.

Earlier in his welcome remarks, the Honourable Commissioner for Health, Hon. Felix Tangwami commended Dr. Lami Ahmadu Fintiri for her unwavering advocacy on womenโ€™s health and consistent efforts to organize breast and cervical cancer awareness programmes every year.

He disclosed that Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has approved the purchase of essential drugs and the upgrade of some cottage hospitals across Adamawa State, reinforcing the administrationโ€™s dedication to quality healthcare.

The event also featured impactful lectures from leading medical experts.

Also present were 10 students each from 20 selected schools across the State, a deliberate effort to educate young girls early on the importance of health awareness and preventive care.

Drawing on her own experience, Mrs. Mamman emphasized a crucial, life-affirming truth: "Cancer is not a death sentence if early detected." Her testimony was a powerful call to action, illustrating the genuine possibility of survival and recovery through timely intervention and screening.

Speaking eloquently on behalf of the patients who benefited from the First Lady's gesture, Rabi Sani expressed heartfelt and profound gratitude to Hajiya Dr. Lami Ahmadu Fintiri.

Rabi Sani highlighted that the First Lady's support for cancer patients in Adamawa extends far beyond singular donations, acknowledging her continuous and comprehensive efforts.

These vital contributions include: payment of Medical Bills, empowerment Items, providing patients with materials and training to generate income, fostering self-reliance during their recovery, and cash Donations, which also offering essential funds specifically for the purchase of required medications and drugs.

Rabi Sani affirmed that the First Lady's multi-faceted approach offers patients not just financial.

The event ended on a note of hope and renewed determination, as participants pledged to become ambassadors of awareness in their communities.

With her compassion and leadership, Hajiya Dr. Lami Ahmadu Fintiri continues to inspire a movement of care, courage, and empowerment among women and girls across Adamawa State.

The highlight of the event was a powerful stage presentation by students from selected secondary schools, who creatively delivered a playlet titled โ€œEarly Detection Saves Lives.โ€

The performance vividly illustrated the importance of early screening, timely diagnosis, and healthy lifestyle choices in preventing cancer.

The young performers also sensitized the audience on avoidable risk factors such as smoking, unhealthy diets, excessive alcohol consumption, and lack of regular medical check-ups, encouraging everyone to adopt healthier habits and to seek medical attention early when changes are noticed in the body.

Their presentation drew loud applause from the audience, as it reinforced the central message of the day, that awareness, education, and early detection remain powerful tools in the fight against cancer.

In a bid to promote food security and encourage families to grow what they eat, Her Excellency, Hajiya Lami Ahmadu Fintiri, has officially launched the first phase of the โ€œEvery Home Is A Gardenโ€ initiative at the Banquet Hall of the Government House, Yola, with an exciting star prize of โ‚ฆ1 million.

Home gardening, as described at the launch, is a simple yet powerful practice. From flower pots to backyard plots, home gardens provide nutritious food and beauty, improving household wellbeing, cutting down food costs, and boosting local nutrition.

Addressing the audience, Her Excellency described the initiative as more than just a garden project, but a movement.

โ€œA movement that begins right at our doorsteps, courtyards, or even balconies. A movement that starts with a single seed and a heart willing to nurture it,โ€ she said.

She further explained that the vision behind Every Home Is A Garden is to inspire families across Nigeria to become producers, not just consumers, and to empower women and youth to embrace self-reliance through food production.

To encourage participation, three winners were awarded cash prizes, and every woman who submitted a garden also received โ‚ฆ200,000 each, proving that no effort went unnoticed.

Her Excellency paid glowing tribute to the Renewed Hope Initiative led by Senator Oluremi Tinubu, CON, the First Lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, for her tireless efforts in women empowerment and family upliftment. The highlight of the day was the testimony from the overall winner, Mrs. Dora Alahera, a physically challenged woman from Bekaji Housing Estate, who was awarded โ‚ฆ1 million.

Caring Beyond Barriers: A touch of humanity, a testament of true leadership, also true leaders donโ€™t wait for elections to act, they lead from the heart, every single day.

In a powerful gesture that reflects compassion, vision, and unwavering commitment to humanity, Her Excellency, Hajiya Lami Ahmadu Fintiri, reached out to the most vulnerable among us, the students of the Special Education Centre in Jada Local Government Area, by delivering food aid through the Nigeria Governorsโ€™ Spouses Forum (NGSF) in partnership with the Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI).

The school, which accommodates primary, junior, and senior secondary students with physical challenges, came alive with joy and renewed hope as Her Excellency stood firmly by their side.

This act of kindness wasnโ€™t just a donation, it was a resounding message of inclusion, dignity, and visibility.

The truth we all know but rarely say: when politicians want a second term, we often see a sudden surge in activity, roads are paved, donations flow, and handshakes become warmer.

But what do you say about a leader who is already in her second term, with no more elections to win, and yet continues to serve, build, and give with unmatched passion?

What do you say about someone who wakes up every morning, not to secure votes, but to change lives?

That rare breed of leader, selfless, visionary, and tireless is exactly who Hajiya Lami Ahmadu Fintiri is. And with her is Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, together, they embody leadership not defined by tenure, but by purpose.

In her stirring speech, Hajiya Lami declared, โ€œThis is more than charity, itโ€™s a statement. When we feed a family, we nurture the future. When a child learns without hunger, she can dream without limits. When communities feel seen, they rise with strength. Today, we are not just giving food, we are giving hope, dignity, and a reason to believe again.โ€

She expressed her deepest gratitude to the Renewed Hope Initiative, led by the remarkable First Lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, whose unwavering commitment continues to set the pace for transformational service.

She also acknowledged the Nigeria Governorsโ€™ Spouses Forum for their relentless effort in turning compassion into impact, time after time, in every corner of Nigeria.

Addressing the beneficiaries directly, Her Excellency said, โ€œThis moment is yours. You matter. You are not alone. We see you, we hear you, and we walk this journey with you. May this support make your studies easier and your hearts lighter.โ€

Hon. Salihu Mohammed Soโ€™o, Executive Chairman of Jada Local Government Area, commended Her Excellency for her consistent love for the people of Jada.

He thanked Governor Ahmadu Fintiri for his ongoing development projects, including the 70% minimum wage implementation for local government staff.

Mr. Godwin Ularamu, speaking on behalf of the school heads and staff, hailed the day as unforgettable.

He praised Hajiya Lami for restoring their long-defunct borehole and expressed appreciation for the revival of school feeding and the payment of WAEC/NECO fees by the Governor.

Three brave students, Pedro Bitrus (blind), Buhari Umar (deaf), and Halita Jediel (physically challenged) spoke with raw emotion, โ€œYou have shown us what real leadership is. You didnโ€™t come with promises; you came with actions. You didnโ€™t speak for applause; you acted with love. Youโ€™ve given us hope beyond politics, and that will never be forgotten.โ€

Present are the occasion was the Chairman of Demsa Local Government Area, Hon. Akam Saloh, Vice Chairman of Jada, District Head of Jada, Alhaji Mutala Umar Ardo Mukaddas Ganye, and many among others.

The ceremony reached its emotional peak as Hajiya Lami personally handed over food items to the Chairman of Jada LGA, school principals, and head teachers, sealing a day filled with love, inspiration, and music from various performing artists.
