GOV. ALIA INSPECTS SITE DESIGNED FOR CONSTRUCTION OF A DAM TO BOOST AVAILABILITY OF WATER FOR MULTIPURPOSE USE

The Governor of Benue State, His Excellency, Rev. Fr. Dr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia embarked on a working visit to Ihugh, Vandeikya LGA of Benue State where he inspects a site cleared for the construction of a water Dam to provide consistent water for domestic, industrial and agricultural needs (irrigation).
"For too long, our people, our farmers have relied solely on the unpredictable rain, and too many communities have lacked consistent access to clean, potable water". This project is a monument to our commitment to a better future, the Governor stated.
Gov. Alia further emphasized that when the Dam is completed, it will provide irrigation capabilities, enabling a shifting from subsistence farming to year-round commercial agriculture as this will boost food security and create thousands of jobs for our teeming youth, while also enabling local industrial growth, boost agro-allied businesses, and enhance the overall quality of life for residents.
In his remarks, the Chairman of Vandeikya LGA, Hon. Dennis Guda Terkura appreciates Gov. Alia for bringing such an impactful project to his people. He therefore enjoin the community to cooperate with the contractors in order to ensure timely completion of the project.
The Governor was accompanied by the Deputy Chairman of Vandeikya LGA, Mrs. Janet Orukuna, the Director General of ACReSAL, Engr. Victor Ama, the CEO, ASPAM Nigerian Limited, Dr. Solomon Akperekpe, APC party Chairman of Vandeikya LGA, Hon. Felix Ukange, Chairman Vandeikya elders forum, Hon. Iorpuu Baaki amongst others.
