GOV. ALIA INSPECTS SITE DESIGNED FOR CONSTRUCTION OF A DAM TO BOOST AVAILABILITY OF WATER FOR MULTIPURPOSE USE

The Governor of Benue State, His Excellency, Rev. Fr. Dr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia embarked on a working visit to Ihugh, Vandeikya LGA of Benue State where he inspects a site cleared for the construction of a water Dam to provide consistent water for domestic, industrial and agricultural needs (irrigation).

"For too long, our people, our farmers have relied solely on the unpredictable rain, and too many communities have lacked consistent access to clean, potable water". This project is a monument to our commitment to a better future, the Governor stated.

Gov. Alia further emphasized that when the Dam is completed, it will provide irrigation capabilities, enabling a shifting from subsistence farming to year-round commercial agriculture as this will boost food security and create thousands of jobs for our teeming youth, while also enabling local industrial growth, boost agro-allied businesses, and enhance the overall quality of life for residents.

In his remarks, the Chairman of Vandeikya LGA, Hon. Dennis Guda Terkura appreciates Gov. Alia for bringing such an impactful project to his people. He therefore enjoin the community to cooperate with the contractors in order to ensure timely completion of the project.

The Governor was accompanied by the Deputy Chairman of Vandeikya LGA, Mrs. Janet Orukuna, the Director General of ACReSAL, Engr. Victor Ama, the CEO, ASPAM Nigerian Limited, Dr. Solomon Akperekpe, APC party Chairman of Vandeikya LGA, Hon. Felix Ukange, Chairman Vandeikya elders forum, Hon. Iorpuu Baaki amongst others.

ARCH. MLANGA PROMISES TO BE THE VOICE OF HIS CONSTITUENTS AS HE PICKS HIS NORMINATION FORM

The leading contender for the Benue North-East Senatorial District under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Hon. Arch. Mlanga Anyom John said he would serve his people passionately and would be the voice of his constituents if elected.

Hon. Arch. Mlanga made the promise yesterday 1st May, 2026 on his page after picking his normination and expression of interest forms to contest for the zone A Senatorial seat in the forthcoming 2027 general elections.

"I wish to formally announce that I have today purchased the Nomination and Expression of Interest Forms to contest for the Senate seat for Benue Zone A in the 2027 general elections".

"This step is driven purely by my passion to serve you, to be a voice that truly represents our farmers, our traders, our youths, our women, and every family yearning for security, dignity, and real development". He stated.

The former Benue state gubernatorial aspirant under the platform of APC who thanked stakeholders and his supporters expressed his best wishes to the great party, the APC:

"I sincerely thank all friends, supporters, and stakeholders who coordinated this process and stood with me from the start. Your faith strengthens my resolve".

To our great party, the All Progressives Congress (APC), I extend my best wishes as we continue to build together. Under our platform, I believe we can deliver the dividends of democracy to every ward and community in Zone A".

The seasoned architect said the purchase of the normination and expression of interest forms was just the beginning of the journey to a safer and more prosperous Zone A, saying he is ready to walk with and work for the people of zone A.

It could be recalled that the Acting Director General for Arch. Mlanga Campaign, Hon. Eddy Tyopev alongside his friends and party faithfuls yesterday 1st May, 2026 picked normination and expression of interest forms on his behalf as one of the requirements for the zone A Senatorial race.

The frontline Benue North-East Senatorial aspirant, Honourable Architect Mlanga Anyom John has officially picked up his nomination and expression of interest forms under the platform of the All Progressives Congress, APC.

A statement issued by his Acting Director General, Honourable Eddy Tyopev, the move marks a significant step toward achieving purposeful and effective representation for the people of Zone A.

Honourable Tyopev described the development as timely and strategic, expressing strong confidence in the leadership capacity and political experience of Hon Arch. Mlanga, noting that the aspirant possesses the vision, competence, and grassroots connection required to deliver quality representation.

The Acting DG further emphasized that the former Benue gubernatorial aspirant remains the most suitably qualified candidate for the race, assuring supporters and stakeholders that his candidacy would usher in inclusive development, effective legislation, and stronger advocacy for the people of the zone.

Supporters and political associates have since welcomed the development with optimism, describing it as a step in the right direction for the progress of Benue North-East Senatorial District.

BENFRUITS GEARS UP FOR TAKE-OFF OF FULL PRODUCTION
The Benue Investment and Property Company Limited's agro-processing subsidiary, Benfruits, is set for the takeoff of full production.
BIPC Group Managing Director, Dr. Raymond Asemakaha, disclosed the development in a statement, calling on farmers and residents to prepare for increased demand for produce as operations begin.
“Benfruits is on its way to commence full production. Get ready with your oranges, mangoes and tomatoes,” Asemakaha stated, expressing optimism over the project’s readiness.
He attributed the progress to the support and leadership of Governor Hyacinth Alia, describing the governor as a “pace setter of our time,” and adding that the initiative would contribute to the state’s economic transformation.
“Trust our Pace setter of our time, His Excellency Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia. Together Benue will be great,” he added.
The commencement of full production at Benfruits is expected to create opportunities for fruit and tomato farmers, stimulate local supply chains and strengthen efforts to position Benue as a hub for agro-industrial development.

Arc Mlanga Consults APC Executives at Benue State Secretariat Ahead of 2027 Senatorial Bid

A frontline aspirant for the Benue North East Senatorial seat in the 2027 general elections, Arc Mlanga Anyom, earlier today paid a strategic courtesy visit to the All Progressives Congress (APC) State Secretariat in Makurdi.

During the visit, Arc Mlanga formally notified party leadership of his intention to contest for the Benue North East Senatorial District seat under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC). He emphasized that his ambition is driven by a commitment to deepen developmental efforts at the federal level and to effectively represent the aspirations of the people of the zone.

Arc Mlanga stated that his vision aligns closely with the transformative leadership of the Executive Governor of Benue State, Rev.Fr.Dr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia. According to him, there is a pressing need for strong federal representation to complement the governor’s developmental strides and ensure sustainable progress across the Benue North East.

Responding the APC state Chairman, Chief Dr. Ben Omale, commended Arc Mlanga for his loyalty and commitment to the APC. He assured the aspirant of a transparent, free, and credible process in the party’s forthcoming primaries. Hon Omale also urged party stakeholders and supporters to remain united and work collectively in support of Governor Alia and Nigeria’s President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, ahead of the 2027 elections.

In her remarks, the APC Women Leader, Hon Mrs Helen Agagbe, lauded Arc Mlanga’s aspiration and offered prayers for his success, expressing confidence in his leadership potential and dedication to public service.

Arc Mlanga was accompanied by former Commissioner for Information, Culture and Tourism, Hon Mathew Abo, Elder Sawuaan Kwaseka, and Dr. Faiga Adagba, among other stakeholders.
