We allowed the then Ondo State government to site an industry known as ENCON and later IRE BURNT BRICKS INDUSTRY @ kELEJU, ILUPEJU ROAD. The establishment did not last for long due to" Endemic corruption, Nepotism and Tribalism". Even when Natives were in position of authority, they ended up enriching
themselves and looted the Industry dry. Imaging a School teacher was made the 1st Accountant, he built 3 flats in 3months and bought Tippers and Agbegilodo for himself. Iit's so pathetic that even a Company driver can steal Pallets of Bricks and sell without refunding the money to the coffers of the company! A New company being rebuil, refurbishhed and being prepared to replace the old looted machinery, broken down kiln, dilapidated walls and an eyesore of what used to be a PRIDE OF EKITI! SHOULD WE ALLOW FARMERS WHOSE FARMLANDS WERE FORCEFULLY TAKEN WITHOUT COMPENSATION TO REGRET FOR LIFE? IN ORDER TO CREATE AWARENESS ABOUT THE OLD ORDER OF THINGS AND THE NEED FOR A NEW INDUSTRY, THIS PAGE WAS SET UP. We choose not to bury our heads in shame;
We choose to rise up as an economic force and explore ways and avenues to RESTORE the LOST GLORY;
Whenever we see the huge holes left in the farms where excavation were made, we burst into tears;
Our River was polluted and we didn't receive the promised Pipe-borne water;
