*Oke Onigbin Secondary School Emerges Winner of Engr. Ifeniyi Ogungbemi Foundation Quiz Competition*
Oke Onigbin Secondary School has emerged overall winner of the 2025 Inter-School Quiz Competition organized by the Engr. Ifeniyi Ogungbemi Foundation, following the successful conclusion of the academic contest held in Kwara State.
The quiz competition, which formed part of the Foundationβs scholarship award programme, featured secondary schools drawn from four local government areas of the state. The event was keenly contested and witnessed impressive performances from participating schools.
Announcing the results, the Administrative Director of the Engr. Ifeniyi Ogungbemi Foundation, Mr. Adeyinka Adedapo, declared Oke Onigbin Secondary School as the first-place winner. Government Secondary School, Omu-Aran, emerged second, while Oro Grammar School, Oro, secured the third position in what he described as a keen and competitive contest.
Mr. Adeyinka noted that the quiz competition was an initiative of the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the Foundation, Chief Dr. Engr. Ifeniyi Stephen Ogungbemi, aimed at encouraging academic excellence and supporting brilliant students in their pursuit of quality education and a better future.
He further highlighted the numerous interventions of the Foundation across Kwara State, stating that it has been actively involved in youth empowerment programmes, scholarship awards to deserving students, payment of monthly stipends to selected widows, provision of social amenities to communities, and distribution of educational materials to students in selected schools, among other laudable achievements.
According to him, schools that participated in the competition were carefully selected from four local government areas. These include Iwo Comprehensive College and Oke Onigbin Secondary School from Isin Local Government; Government Secondary School, Omu-Aran, Ogbo Grammar School, Omu-Aran, Ofe-Aran Comprehensive Commercial College, Omu-Aran, Oro Grammar School, Oro, and Iludun Oro Comprehensive College, Iludun Oro from Irepodun Local Government; Orota Community Secondary School, Odo-Owa from Oke-Ero Local Government; and Christ Apostolic Church Secondary School, Osi, from Ekiti Local Government Area.
Speaking while appreciating the organizers and participants, the ANCOPS Chairman, Omu-Aran Zone, who is also the Principal of Government Secondary School, Omu-Aran, Mr. Ajewole Isaac, thanked God for the opportunity to be part of the programme. He applauded the Chairman of the Engr. Ifeniyi Ogungbemi Foundation for his passion and commitment to the welfare and educational development of the masses across the state.
Mr. Ajewole also called on other well-meaning individuals and philanthropists in society to emulate the good gestures of a multiple Traditional title Holder Chief Bobakeye of Oro Kingdom, Aare Gbobaniyi of Odo-Owa, Jagun Bobaselu of Ara-Orin, and Aare Mayegun of Ede Kingdom, in supporting education and social development.
In his remarks, the CEO of the Engr. Ifeniyi Ogungbemi Foundation, Chief Dr. Engr. Ifeniyi Stephen Ogungbemi, expressed his appreciation to school principals, teachers, students, security personnel, and all stakeholders for their commitment to the success of the programme.
He encouraged the scholarship award winners to continue striving for excellence, while urging other participants to improve their performance for future opportunities.
Chief Ogungbemi stated that all activities of the Foundation are geared towards complementing the efforts of the Kwara State Government under the leadership of Governor Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, particularly in improving the lives of the less privileged and promoting educational advancement across all local government areas of the state.
