The main goal was to improve written and spoken English in secondary schools in Nigeria. In 2010, Dr. Abiola Adimula having had the burden to address one of the challenges occasioned by technology and use of mobile phones where words are coined in SMS and the correct usage of English language was being bastardized and also causing failures for students who carry the habits into exam hall, initiat
ed and introduced the Great Kwara State Spelling Bee Competition. The competition was organized consistently with the Kwara State Ministry of Education among both public and private secondary schools in Kwara State since 2010. In 2012, Leah Foundation also collaborated with the organisers.
