On 15 August, 2026, Saving African Youth Dream Initiative(SAYDi), in partnership with Ecosafe Naija, brought young people together for Tea & Talk 2026, commemorating International Youth Day.

Tea & Talk was more than just sitting together on mats and sharing tea.
It was a space to listen, connect, learn and exchange.

From conversations around Digital & AI Literacy to Art for Sustainability & Well-being, Climate & Agrifood Innovation, Cross-Context Leadership and Peer Advocacy, participants brought their experiences, perspectives and ideas to the circle.

We listened to different stories.
We learned from different experiences.
We discovered that despite our different contexts, many of our aspirations remain beautifully connected.

Because sometimes, creating a resilient future begins with something as simple as sitting together, sharing experiences and learning from one another.

On 14 August 2026,Damilola Akani represented SAYDi at the UN House in Abuja for a crucial dialogue on youth inclusion.

The dialogue brought together policy makers, young people, development partners, civil society organisations, and relevant UN agencies to deliberate on and identify practical pathways for strengthening collaboration among government institutions and advancing a youth-centred approach to public budgeting, with a gender responsive lens.

Ensuring young voices have a seat at high-level decision-making spaces is essential for shaping responsive policies, driving civic accountability, and building a future where young people are active co-creators of development—not just passive beneficiaries.
