PRESS STATEMENT

Al-Khalifah Foundation Invites Kwara Central Communities to Nominate Students for Quiz Competition

The Al-Khalifah Humanitarian & Community Initiatives Foundation has announced the opening of registration for the Future Scholars Quiz Competition 2026 – Kwara Central Edition, a one-day academic contest designed for Senior Secondary School students attending community-based summer lessons during the ongoing holiday.

Registration will open on Thursday, 3 September and close on Thursday, 10 September 2026, with communities across Ilorin West, Ilorin East, Ilorin South and Asa Local Government Areas invited to participate.

The competition is designed to promote academic excellence, healthy competition, teamwork and unity among young learners across Kwara Central.

Under the arrangement, each participating community is expected to nominate three Senior Secondary School students from its community-based summer lesson to represent it in the competition.

The Foundation said the initiative was conceived to make the ongoing summer holiday more productive for students while creating an opportunity for communities to discover, encourage and celebrate promising young minds.

Beyond winning prizes, the competition seeks to inspire students to take greater interest in learning, build confidence and interact with their peers from other communities in an atmosphere of friendship and healthy academic rivalry.

The Foundation therefore called on community leaders, summer lesson coordinators, parents, teachers and other education stakeholders across Kwara Central to support eligible students and ensure their communities are represented.

Interested communities are encouraged to complete their registration between 3 and 10 September 2026. Following submission, the organising committee will review entries and contact successful communities with further information on screening, accreditation and participation.

At Al-Khalifa Humanitarian & Community Initiatives Foundation, we carried out the first phase of our Ramadan outreach with focus and purpose.

We stepped into the community with one goal, Support those who need help during this sacred month. Our team reached out to the aged and market women, we met them in their spaces, we listened to them, we handed over foodstuffs to ease their burden for Ramadan.

Each package contained essential items for daily meals, Items they use in their homes. Items that reduce pressure during iftar and sahur.

The impact was clear.
• Elderly beneficiaries received their packages with gratitude
• Market women paused their daily hustle to smile and pray for the team
• Faces that carried worry now showed relief you could see it in their expressions, Joy replaced concern, Hope returned.

This first phase was not about numbers, It was about people. It was about standing with the aged who struggle silently. It was about supporting hardworking women who still provide for their families despite hardship.

At Al-Khalif Humanitarian & Community Initiatives Foundation, we believe Ramadan is a time to give with sincerity and act with compassion.

This is only the beginning. We remain committed to reaching more homes and spreading more smiles.
