ONLINE GRAPHICS DESIGNING WORKSHOP 💥💥💥

In the course to create employment, grow our economy and Make A Greater Impact in Community (MAGIC), the Rotaract District Public Image Committee in Partnership with Rotaract Club of Uyo City, Rotaract club of ASKSCONS, Rotaract club of Eket, Rotaract club of UNICAL, Rotaract Club of Gregory University Uturu, Rotaract Club of ESUCOM, Rotaract Club of University Of Nigeria Nsuka, Rotaract Club of Awka Gateway, Rotaract Club Of Anambra, Interact District 9142, UBUNTU Media, DCKonceptz, Don Visky Graphix, Creativus, and HC Creative conducted an ONLINE GRAPHICS DESIGNING TRAINING tagged "SOFT SKILLS AS A TOOLS IN ROTARY PUBLIC IMAGE AND IT'S IMPACT ON ECONOMIC AND COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT".

BENEFICIARIES OF THE PROJECT:-
109 Registered participants including Rotarians, Non Rotarian, Non Rotaractors, Rotaractors and Interactors who are interested to learn and venture into graphics designing as a soft skill to create employment and make impact in our community.

PURPOSE OF THE PROJECT:-The Online Graphics Designing Training project was designed to empower participants in alignment with Rotary International’s Area of Focus on Economic and Community Development.

Its purpose is to:-
1. Drive Impact: Equip participants with 21st-century creative and digital design skills to help them thrive in today’s competitive economy.
2. Foster Community Empowerment: Reduce unemployment by nurturing innovative creators who can support local businesses and serve their communities.
3. Achieve Sustainable Impact: Train and mentor participants to become self-reliant, skilled, and job-ready graphics design professionals.
4. Question and Answer Session on all graphics designing tools like Basic Introduction, Canva, Pixallab, and Finishing Tools like Photoroom, Lightroom and Snapseed.
5. Fundraising and District Support Initiative: The ₦1,000 registration fee introduced for participants served as a creative avenue for fundraising and sustainability within the District.
6. MEMBERSHIP DRIVE AND CLUB SUPPORT:
Sensitization on why join Rotary/Rotaract Club through publication of district events, activities, flyers and online drive during the various training sessions.

IMPACT OF THE PROJECT:-
In the course of the Online Graphics Designing Training, all participants were trained through hands on practical sessions to design catchy flyers and create employment support and grow our economy and make a living in and outside our community through Graphics Designing as a Soft Skills in the 24th Century.

1. Over 40 participants gained hands-on experience in Basic Graphics Designing, Contenvisual Branding, and Digital Branding, positioning them to thrive in today’s digital economy.
2. With the Basic and Designing Using Canva already covered and other sessions still ongoing, Participants are now empowered to apply their graphics designing skills in supporting their various Rotary/Rotaract Clubs, local businesses, NGOs, and community initiatives with quality digital content.
3. About 30 participants have begun basic practical designs, building design portfolios, through mentorship and guidance from our training facilitators to ensuring long-term sustainability.
4. Each session featured interactive question and answer with hands-on practice on major design tools enabling them to create professional designs with confidence.
5. The proceeds provided additional funding to support the District projects and other developmental initiatives, reducing financial dependence on external sources.
6. Ownership & Commitment: The token registration encouraged participants to take the training seriously, fostering a sense of value, responsibility, and commitment to the learning process.
7. The training served as an avenue for a successful Membership Drive through digital sensitization, publications, and interactive discussions, as participants gained deeper understanding of Rotary and Rotaract values, with 2 indicating interest to join a Rotaract Club.
8. Participants with good records to attendance to the various training sessions with be given a Certificate upon completion and meeting up with the standard graphics designing skills.

TOGETHER WE MADE IMPACT WHICH OBVIOUSLY WILL CREATE WEALTH, GROW OUR ECONOMY AND MAKE OUR COMMUNITY A BETTER PLACE TO LIVE.

We are excited to announce that our *Second orientation session* will be holding this Saturday! 🎉

To make it even more impactful, we will be having *Rtr Enobong Nsek, Assistant District Learning Facilitator (ADLF)* as our guest speaker. She will be taking us through an insightful topic: *The 4-Way Test and Ethical Decision-Making: Importance and application in daily life, and how it guides Rotaractors in their actions.* This session will help our new members understand what our club is all about, the opportunities within Rotaract, and how to get involved meaningfully.

It promises to be inspiring, enlightening, and a chance for everyone, both new and old members, to connect better with the vision of our clubs.

The Polio Eradication Campaign remains one of Rotary and Rotaract’s primary purposes and goals.

AKSCONS Ikot Ekpene Campus, together with the Rotary and Rotaract Clubs in Akwa Ibom, the Hill Trekkers, and the SUG AKSCONS, made waves in the city of Ikot Ekpene by creating awareness and sensitizing the public on the importance of vaccination.

In attendance were the Past District Governor, Past Assistant District Governor, Rotary and Rotaract Presidents, government officials, the Director of AKSCONS Ikot Ekpene Campus, Rotarians, Rotaractors as well as students and children brought by their mothers for vaccination.

An End Polio billboard was unveiled at the Primary Health Care Centre, Ikot Ekpene, after which the vaccination exercise began.

This walk is more than just a step, it is a powerful statement against polio, a testament to the strength of our community, and a celebration of the progress we've made so far. Let's unite to ensure every child is protected from this debilitating disease.

Together, we can make a difference and bring us closer to a polio-free world.

ROTARACT CLUB OF AKSCONS IKOT EKPENE CAMPUS: STUDENT BUSINESS & ENTREPRENEUR SPOTLIGHT

In line with Rotary International’s monthly theme of Economic and Community Development, the Rotaract Club of AKSCONS Ikot Ekpene Campus, in collaboration with the Student Union Government of Akwa Ibom State College of Nursing Sciences, Ikot Ekpene Campus, carried out a project tagged Student Business & Entrepreneur Spotlight during the institution’s Student Week.

This initiative provided a platform for students with small businesses and side hustles to showcase their products and services. A large flex banner was designed to feature different businesses, while students also had the opportunity to market their goods within the event space.

The project aimed to promote entrepreneurship, support student-owned ventures, and encourage a culture of patronizing one another. Beyond visibility, it created connections, increased sales, and fostered community growth on campus.

Through this project, our club continues to empower young people, inspire creativity, and contribute to the economic development of our immediate community.
