The Arise Initiative International (AII), a non governmental organization launched its platform which had its maiden meeting on Monday, 20 Dec, 2021. In the meeting, the role of youths in community development was discussed.
The Director General, Mr. Uwem Ekarika, highlighted young people’s potential & impacts during the meeting. He said that building a sustainable capacity among youths, communities and partner organizations to impact on the multilevel processes and awareness around human capacity development is the core mandate of the movement. He also enlisted the major objectives of Arise Initiative International thus:
Actions tailored to promote youths involvement in governance, skills acquisition and development for future generations, peace and tolerance, entrepreneurship, education, equality, advocacies, justice, security, empowerment, health services, hope, dignity and better quality of life for people from all social background. He also anchored his point more especially on attitudinal re-orientation, which will enable the youths to be more productive in the society.
Mrs. Uduakobong Usanga, one of the pioneer members of the group stressed that it is necessary for the youths from different strata to have a synergy interms of helping one another. Also to utilise the interrelated sustainable development of the government as well as contributing a quota to compliment the ones offered by the government.
Opinions about action plan were welcomed from members of the group.
It is believed to be gradually expansive and ambitious plan, built on firm foundation of peace, improve youth resuscitativeness, social stability and progress.
In addition, the following members were appointed to stem relevant programs that shall be steered by the platform. They are:
Tr. Isaac Mandu as Director of Education.
Mrs. Uduakobong Usanga as Director of Health.
Mr. Kponoabasi Okon as Director of ICT & Branding
Mr. Matthew Aaron as Director of Industrial Training and Skills acquisition.
Mr. Theophilus Akpan as Publicity Secretary.
However, the entire group is certain on the strength of the appointees which is pivotal on successful programs delivery.
