Brighter Future Initiative Concludes the Spelling Bee Competition (Second Edition).
Ikire, Apomu, and Ikoyi were electrified yesterday as the Brighter Future Initiative successfully concluded the grand finale of its Spelling Bee Competition, 2.0. After a week of meticulous planning by the organizing team and outstanding preparation from the participating students, the final stage of the competition came to a thrilling close, marking another milestone in our commitment to academic excellence across Irewole and Isokan LGAs.
Last week, schools from across Irewole and Isokan LGAs converged for the preliminary rounds, where dedication and discipline were on full display. From that rigorous process, 11 schools emerged qualified for yesterday’s finale. The contest that followed was a display of poise, precision, and intellectual tenacity. At the end of a keenly contested battle of wits, Ayedaade Grammar School, Ikire claimed the championship title. Labimson College, Ikire secured the position of first runner-up, while First Baptist High School, Ikire emerged as the second runner-up.
Beyond the team rankings, individual brilliance was also recognized. The award for Best Speller was presented to Dada St. Hillary of Brighter Light College, Ikire and Abideen Omofolarin of The Possible Academy, Ikire. These prizes were graciously donated by Alhaji Ogundare Olatunde, CEO of Attitude Store, whose support reflects a shared belief in nurturing young talent.
The integrity and smooth conduct of the competition were upheld by our distinguished panel of judges, Dr. Oyetunji Olamilekan and Miss Fatimoh Olaitan Ishola, whose diligence and professionalism ensured a fair and credible process. We extend our sincere gratitude for their outstanding service.
We also acknowledge and appreciate the esteemed guests whose presence graced the occasion and whose goodwill messages, counsel, and words of encouragement strengthened the event. Our profound thanks go to the NUT Chairperson, Irewole Chapter, Mrs. Obawura; the NUT Secretary, Irewole Chapter, Mr. Oloyede Hamzat; the Representative of ANCOPPS, Irewole, Mrs. Adeoye; the Principal of Fatima College, Elder Fasan; and Mr. Akinremi Baniyamin Olawale (OWAB), Executive Director of PEACAD Movement.
