Benefits of Becoming a Member of the Association
Visibility of Association in States
The Association is currently segmented into Zones across the country with Chapters and Branches operating under the Zones for easy administration and prompt resolution of issues involving the industry and members. The structure is to aid members’ recruitment and elicit prompt attention to issues as they affect th
e industry and members at the local levels. Professional Training
The Association has a Resource Center for the training of LPG plant operators/personnel on HSE, and financial and technical applications in line with the MISTDO training modules and standards which have been made mandatory by NMDPRA as a prerequisite for renewal of licenses and other documentation. Sponsorship of Retailers
The Association also sponsors the Retailers (who are the nearest level to the consumers in the LP Gas distribution value chain) for the purpose of licensing by NMDPRA Our members leverage on the strength power and influence of NALPGAM’s National body, Zones, Chapters, and Branches, to make their voices heard on issues in the LPG industry with the government authorities and regulators. Government Liaison Committee
NALPGAM has constituted a Technical Working Committee that interfaces and negotiates with regulatory bodies on behalf of its members, in liaison with the Federal, State, and Local Governments, regarding the imposition of levies and taxes which have become bottlenecks in the LPG distribution value chain. The Committee also provides professional, technical advice and support to members that may be having operational difficulties and also to plant owners and other prospects that are desirous to join the Association but face difficulties with regulatory documentation. NALPGAM dialogues with the government at the Federal, State, and Local levels on the review of some policies which may constitute obstacles to operations in the industry. The Association also works with the Federal Government on policy formulation to ensure a regular and adequate supply of LPG to the domestic market. NALPGAM’s Self-Regulation of Members
NALPGAM’s Technical Committee carries out periodic oversight functions on members’ plants to ensure compliance with minimum standards and identify possible lapses and recommend corrective measures to prevent regulator’s sanctions. In the same light, it protects the image of its members in the public and differentiates between illegal and licensed plants in cases of accidents or emergencies, and recommends sanctions to the ailing operators. With the increasing awareness of LPG usage and consumption in the country, the Nigerian LPG industry is creating massive investment and employment opportunities for the improvement of the economy and Nigeria as a whole. While NALPGAM has been committed to promoting the supply and use of Liquefied Petroleum Gas at an affordable rate throughout the country, the membership of the association of all duly registered and licensed gas plants in the country will greatly lend a voice to the increasing yearning for awareness and further deepening of the use of LPG as the cooking energy of choice in the country. We, therefore, wish to invite you to take advantage of the inherent strength in unity and seize this opportunity to enroll in the membership of the association.
