Nigerian Youth Initiatives (NYI) - Introduction
The average Nigerian Youth is a, naturally inventive, creative, adventurous and enterprising individual who seeks to better his/her life through strife amidst the limitations of resources within his immediate reach. Nigerian Youth Initiatives seeks to build on this sense of adventure, and encourage these young people to become involved in all aspects of their daily lives, at local, national and intentional level. This gives them the opportunity to develop their experience with responsibility, autonomy and involvement, in the context of a common interest. In a world of constant change, Nigerian Youth Initiatives will help young people to try out their own ideas, to devise their own projects and to carry them out in their own way so as to develop an entrepreneurial skill. What We Do
OVERVIEW
The NIGERIAN YOUTH INITIATIVES offers young people opportunities for mobility and active participation in the construction of our nation. It aims to contribute to building a “Nation of knowledge”, transform the qualities of our ideas and to create an arena for co-operation in the development of youth policy, based on non-formal education. It encourages the concept of lifelong learning and the development of skills and competencies, which promote active citizenship.
