RC Lagos Golden Hearts Ikeja Celebrates Historic DISCON 2026 in Abeokuta, Nigeria.

The Rotary Club Lagos Golden Hearts Ikeja joined hundreds of Rotarians across District 9112 for the Elevate DISCON 2026 Conference, held in Abeokuta — a three-day experience that blended education, culture, wellness, and Rotary fellowship in remarkable fashion.

The conference featured dynamic plenary sessions, inspiring speaker engagements, vibrant exhibitions, wellness activities, and powerful networking opportunities. A standout moment was a special session with renowned comedian and MC Ali Baba, who delivered a masterclass in humour, insight, and inspiration.

Day 3 at the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library proved historic. The acclaimed stage play The Trial of Afonja produced by our very own Rotarian Toyin Abiodun featured performances by Nollywood superstars Dr. Joke Muyiwa, Hafiz Oyetoro (Saka), Olayemi Mbang, and Luwamide Femi Isedowo, with a special appearance by legendary filmmaker Tunde Kelani. The evening was made even more remarkable by the surprise appearance of former President Olusegun Obasanjo during the live performance.

The conference concluded with the DISCON Gala Night a celebration of culture, fellowship, and the enduring spirit of Rotary service.

RC Lagos Golden Hearts Ikeja returns energised and committed to deepening its impact in communities across Lagos and beyond.

What an incredible start to an exciting weekend! Day 1 at the All-White Welcome Party was filled with amazing energy, fellowship, networking, reconnecting, laughter, and unforgettable memories with Rotarians from across District 9112. 💙💛

The atmosphere was vibrant, the connections were meaningful, and the experience has already been nothing short of amazing.

Yesterday’s Fun Friday Fellowship was more than just a gathering.It was a reminder of what Rotary truly stands for. Rotary Club Lagos Golden Hearts Ikeja
Through shared laughter, meaningful conversations, and moments of learning, we experienced the power of connection that continues to drive our service and impact in the community. Each fellowship strengthens the bond that unites us in purpose and action.

We are especially grateful to PAG Adeshina Rasheed for gracing us with his presence and sharing insights that inspired and enriched us all. Kudos to our Rotaract chapter for fellowshipping with us.

Thank you to everyone who joined us and made the evening memorable. We look forward to continuing this journey of fellowship, learning, and service together at the May edition.

Some days remind us exactly why we serve and this was one of those days.

At the Oshodi Primary Health Center, the Rotary Club Lagos Golden Hearts Ikeja carried out the Comnunity Impactful Initiative: Safe Motherhood Support , providing essential delivery items to expectant mothers preparing to bring new life into the world.

But beyond the items shared, it was a day of connection, encouragement, and renewed hope a moment of fellowship where we stood with these mothers, reminding them of the strength they carry and the greatness they are about to introduce into the world.

Because Rotary is not just about service it is about touching lives at meaningful moments, uplifting communities, and living out our commitment to Service Above Self.
