ANNOUNCING THE 2025 FISU WEEK — A CELEBRATION OF YOUTH, EDUCATION, CULTURE & COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT

The Federation of Iju Students’ Union (FISU), under the leadership of Comrade Oluwaseyi Abidakun, is delighted to announce the upcoming FISU WEEK 2025, scheduled to hold in December 2025.

This year’s edition promises to be impactful, inspiring, and community-driven as students, youths, stakeholders, and leaders within and beyond Iju town come together to celebrate excellence, unity, and innovation.

FISU Week is dedicated to fostering academic excellence, leadership development, cultural heritage, and youth empowerment. The event will feature a series of activities, including educational programs, community service, entrepreneurial empowerment, cultural exhibitions, sporting events, and social engagements—all designed to inspire the next generation of young leaders in Iju.

The Union invites individuals, organizations, community leaders, corporate bodies, and well-meaning citizens to partner with and support this noble initiative as sponsors, mentors, and contributors toward empowering the future of Iju.

The Federation of Iju Students' Union (FISU) is delighted to present Falana Omosebi Oladeji, popularly known as *Illumination* as this week's Face of the week.
This recognition is part of FISU initiative under the leadership of Comr Abidakun Oluwaseyi to spotlight outstanding members who embody leadership, dedication and service to the union.

Profile;

Mister Falana Omosebi O. is a student of Adeyemi Federal University of Education AFUED, in the Department of Education Psychology and Counseling. He celebrates his birthday every 7th of May, his dedication and achievements and passion for FISU is highly noted and visible.

Beyond his academics and leadership role, he is also skilled as a Shoe Making showcasing his versatility and entrepreneurial spirit.

In his words of advice to all members of FISU, she emphasized the power of determination and love:

This recognition is part of FISU initiative under the leadership of Comr Abidakun Oluwaseyi to spotlight outstanding members who embody leadership, dedication and service to the union.

Profile;

Comr Oluwalade A. is a student of Obafemi Awolowo University, in the Department of Linguistics and African Languages. She celebrates her birthday every 30th of April and currently serves as the General Secretary of FISU, a position in which she has consistently demonstrated passion for the well-being of members.

Beyond her academics and leadership role, she is also skilled as a Photographer showcasing her versatility and entrepreneurial spirit.

In her words of advice to all members of FISU, she emphasized the power of determination:

The Federation of Iju Students’ Union (FISU) proudly presents her maiden *Education Summit*, a transformative academic gathering designed to enlighten, empower, and inspire students.

*Theme:* “Shaping Students for Success: Skills and Mentorship for a Brighter Future”
*Date:* Thursday, October 23rd, 2025
*Time:* 10:00 AM
*Venue:* Iju Town Hall, Akure North, Ondo State

The Education Summit seeks to equip students and young minds with essential tools, guidance, and mentorship for success in academics, career, and life. It will bridge the gap between learning and leadership by exposing participants to key insights from experienced professionals.

Under the leadership of Comr. Oluwaseyi Abidakun, FISU remains committed to promoting education and youth development.

Students from primary, secondary, and tertiary institutions are expected to participate in various intellectual sessions, including a *Spelling Bee competition*, interactive talks, and skill-building activities.

This event promises to be an inspiring and impactful convergence of knowledge.

FISU UNVEILS FACE OF THE WEEK; Rt. Hon. (Comr.) Akindejoye Olasoji

Profile:
Rt. Hon. (Comr.) Akindejoye Olasoji is a passionate and forward-looking scholar of Computational Linguistics at the prestigious University of Ibadan. As a Language Technologist, he combines his background in Linguistics and African Languages with cutting-edge computational methods to preserve African languages and drive innovation in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning.

Beyond academics, he has served as the Immediate Past President of FISU, where he demonstrated exceptional leadership, transparency, and a strong commitment to student development. His tenure was marked by impactful initiatives, collaboration, and a focus on strengthening the voice of students within and beyond the community.

He takes pride in his cultural roots, reflected in his love for South-Western Nigerian cuisine. He maintains that FISU must continue to uphold its founding values of service, transparency, and innovation while the current leadership should continue to embrace inclusiveness and unity across boards for effective student engagement. A united FISU is a stronger FISU capable of leaving lasting impact within the community and beyond.

TeeMan is a Alumni of Ekiti State University, Ado-Ekiti, in the Department of Geology, Faculty of Science. He celebrates his birthday every 18th of May and he served as the Treasurer and the Financial secretary of FISU under the leadership of Comr Akindejoye which he consistently demonstrated his ability for the betterment of FISU

FISU UNVEILS FACE OF THE WEEK – COMR. ODUNLADE DAMILOLA SEUN (P.K.A QUEEN TEZZY)

The Federation of Iju Students’ Union (FISU) is delighted to present Comrade Odunlade Damilola Seun, popularly known as Queen Tezzy, as the Face of the Week. This recognition is part of FISU’s initiative to spotlight outstanding members who embody leadership, dedication, and service to the union.

Queen Tezzy is a student of Federal Polytechnic, Ado-Ekiti, in the Department of Mass Communication. She celebrates her birthday every 26th of June and currently serves as the Welfare Director of FISU, a position in which she has consistently demonstrated passion for the well-being of members.

Beyond her academics and leadership role, she is also skilled as a news reporter and café attendant, showcasing her versatility and entrepreneurial spirit.

Her favorite food is the classic Nigerian delicacy – Pounded Yam and Egunsi Soup. She draws strength and motivation from her favorite quote: “The best is yet to come but sooner.”
