Here's the story with corrected grammatical constructs:

After our first visit to the Orunwa community to discuss our project of establishing a secondary school for Orunwa and the three neighboring communities, we were asked to check back. A month later, we followed up, and surprisingly, we were greeted with the news of the Baale's death 😭. The words were "Oh fellow, two weeks ago, Baale o tiku" (meaning, Baale has passed 😩). I was emotional, but I remembered that during our first meeting, he was excited to receive us and told us not to worry, as he and his team would attend to our request. I was personally distraught because I wondered how we would start again and who would attend to us, knowing that the first man who appreciated our initiative had just passed.

I also recalled that during our first visit, the Baale designated a representative to be his liaison officer between us and him. After his burial, I spoke to our liaison officer, who is also a doctor, about the way forward. He assured us and told me not to worry, that they were fully in support of our initiative. Weeks later, I was called to have a conversation about our approval, as the appointed Baale in Council and his Chiefs had given deep thought to our request.

On the designated Sunday, my team and I arrived at the community of Orunwa, and we were handed the letter of approval for our project to establish the secondary school for their community and the three other communities to attend πŸ’ƒπŸ’ƒπŸ™ŒπŸ™ŒπŸ™ŒπŸ™Œ. We are grateful to God for the support and appreciate their generous consideration in approving the project.

Last year, when I received the news that I was pregnant, I was very excited but was only wondering what it would look like in combination with my work, community engagement, and all. At first, I was indifferent, but the consciousness that I had a little life evolving inside of me kept me excited, yet eagerly anticipating.

But then again, my community engagement for Project-Transform the narrative (establishing a secondary school for Orunwa and it's neighbouring communities) had began.
And so, I remember sitting down one of those night in my second month to talk to my child, I had told him how excited I was to have him come at the time he did, also told him about me, my work and the project at hand. I also told my child his role in the realization of the project. Well, he understood the assignment, we aligned (as I had a blissful pregnancy experiences) from the first to the last month, God mightily helped usπŸ™‡

Community Engagement:

So, recalling our last conversation, I mentioned that during our retreat break, my husband and I took a walk around the community to explore it. That's when I saw some familiar faces - students who attend my community school. I started asking questions and discovered that there's no secondary school within the community, forcing students to trek for 2 hours to access one.

Break was over and we came back, as I sat down, there was a flash back to the dream about the good looking old man, who had a shop filled with everything but he was blind and I had promised to help him sell came flashing... Immediately, I knew this was it!!!!!!!
This was God preparing me with instructions for this communityπŸ™‡πŸ™‡πŸ™‡

In January 2024, I discussed the project with my Coach, Joshua Ajani who was enthusiastic about the idea. He advised me to engage with the community residents to understand their perspective and determine if the lack of a secondary school was a problem they were experiencing. This was important because, even with a solution, if the community doesn't see it as a problem, they may not value or utilize it.

In March 2024, my team and I took action. We met with the Baale and his chief, introducing ourselves and sharing our findings. They expressed that for over 80 years, the community had been without a secondary school, which had been a significant problem. They welcomed our initiative, seeing it as a potential answer to their long-standing prayers. The leaders requested time to discuss the matter among themselves and provide a formal response. In the meantime, they asked us to submit our request in writing, promising to get back to us.

Below is the pictorial evidence of our first engagement with Orunwa Community- The Baale and his chiefs.
