To commemorate Menstrual Hygiene Day, Girls in Slums Initiative successfully organised a Menstrual Hygiene Workshop at Atipe, Baba Isale, Oje on the 23rd of May, 2026.
The outreach recorded the participation of over 50 girls and the support of more than 10 volunteers who contributed immensely to making the event impactful and engaging.
The workshop featured several interactive and educative sessions facilitated by knowledgeable speakers, including:
🌟 Cycle tracking
🌟 Myths and facts about menstruation
🌟 Production of reusable sanitary pads
🌟 Managing menstrual pain and iron deficiency
The sessions were practical, insightful, and engaging, giving the participants the opportunity to learn, ask questions, and actively participate throughout the program.
In line with this year’s Menstrual Hygiene Day theme, “Together for a Period-Friendly World,” Girls in the Slum Initiative remains committed to promoting menstrual health awareness, breaking harmful stigma, and empowering girls with the knowledge and confidence to manage their menstrual health safely and with dignity.
