Education is a fundamental social right, and it plays an indispensable role in facilitating the social and economic welfare of communities. Furthermore, it increases the disposable income of individuals. In my local community, vulnerable youths from poor families do not have access to quality formal and informal education and this puts them at a higher risk of becoming social and security threats
to the society. Government at all levels cannot meet all the basic needs of its citizens, especially in a developing nation like Nigeria. Bridging this gap and providing a safer and peaceful society is a primary focus of Peculiar Grace Youth Empowerment Initiative
My dream for founding this Initiative is to leave the world a better place than I met it through my passion for coaching, counseling, teaching and mentoring the young people. This is the main reason for founding this Not-for-profit, Non-Governmental Organization: Peculiar Grace Youth Empowerment Initiative. It is a registered organization with Corporate Affairs Commission in Nigeria. Our strategic mission is: helping young adults especially the vulnerable groups live a fulfilled and responsible life through social and educational enlightenment, scholarships, advocacy campaigns etc. We unlock opportunities for citizens by providing access to Youth Leadership Training and Mentoring as well as Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) models as veritable tools to combating global issues including poverty, climate change, health, gender inequality, social disharmony, terrorism and many other vices. Our major focus is to use education to drive sustainable development. The type of Education we render is not limited to formalized model only. We engage youths from all walks of life and work with both formal and non-formal youth establishments to engage our target audience through various communication and advocacy campaigns. This include workshops, seminars, personalized counseling and mentoring sessions for delinquent youths as well as young high school students. We also have a newly launched PGYEI Scholarship Scheme which is a merit-based program with emphasis on students from poor or economically disadvantaged backgrounds.
