Hurray!!!

SWINT Foundation 6th year anniversary.
6 years ago I yielded to the leading of God to undertake this task for women living with sickle cell disorder.
Meeting all the women on the SWINT Foundation platform is a privilege, I will not take for granted.
It has been a rollercoaster journey.
We laughed and cried together and I am grateful to God for strength to come this far, it's the Lord's doing and it is marvelous in my sight.
Long life and good health to us all.
Long live SWINT Foundation!!!

Aunty is the first sickle cell warrior in Nigeria I know that spoke publicly about her genotype and her struggles living with sickle cell disorder.
I first saw her on my favourite TV show New Dawn with Funmi Iyanda on the national TV NTA, about 20 years ago talking about her book "Still standing".
I was glued to the TV throughout the session and I loved her bravery and resilience despite the disability she has due to the disorder, that show really did something positive to my mindset.
I remember reaching out to her when I found her on Facebook and connected, thank you for speaking out with so much passion.
Aunty Toyin, Founder Sickle cell Advocacy and Management Initiative (SAMI) is a pioneer sickle cell advocate in Nigerian that paved the way and gave voice for everyone of us who is into sickle cell advocacy today.
Going down 20 years memory lane and here she is today again celebrating 60 years despite all odds.
I can only be grateful and celebrate the faithfulness of God in her life!
Happy birthday Aunty Toyin Ibidunni Adesola.
It is indeed;
60 years of purpose!
60 years of resilience!
60 years of impact!
60 years of survival!
60 years of God's grace!

GIVE THANKS
To all the living,
With love from SWINTS 💕we wish you merry Christmas and happy new year in advance.
We bless the name of the Lord who has kept all of us alive till this Christmas in the midst of the World's turbulent and crisis. Despite the several odds that took away the high and the mighty, we are still bouncing with strength and vigour. Friends, we may not have accomplish all set goals and objectives for the year, that's the way God wants it to be. Remember those that has died and are on hospital bed without making mockery of them. We're not better than them. Remember only the living have goals to accomplish. Therefore let's spend more of the remaining days of 2024 to appreciate and thank the One that has kept us till now.
Glory be to God in the Highest
Halleluyah. We shall witness many more of it in Jesus unfailing name. Have an amazing Christmas 🎄 celebrations and a wonderful new year, shalom!!!.

It is very surprising how people think that people living with Sickle Cell may die anytime, forgetting that everyone of us on this planet will all die one day. The fact Sickle Cell warriors battle different types of health challenges does not mean that we don't live till old age. I know a lot of warriors who are grandmother's and grandfather's and are enjoying their life to the fullest.
Let's be cautious of what we think of people, our times and seasons are in the hand of God.

Uncertainty is another issue that comes with living with Sickle Cell.
It is usually very hard to plan for school, career, relationship, and life in general 😉. Sickle Cell crisis can just creep in on you uninvited and unannounced putting all your plans on hold and sometimes destroying the plans entirely.
Can you tell me how you have been able to cope with uncertainty living with sickle cell in the comment section?
