OYO STATE ADC REJECTS DISPLAYING OF ILLEGITIMATE CANDIDATES' PERSONAL DATA FORMS EC9 BY INEC.

Rising from its Stakeholders situation review meeting hosted on 29th August 2026 at Oyo State ADC Secretariat at Veterinary, Mokola, Ibadan, which had in attendance all the State Executive committee members, the Local government Exco members across all 33 LGAS, party leaders and party candidates (Governorship candidates, Senate candidates, Federal house Representatives Candidates and State Assembly candidates), Oyo State Chapter of ADC resolve as follows.

1. There exists no other legally recognized ADC structure in Oyo aside from the one led by Alhaji Yinka Olona.

2. No candidates within the Oyo State ADC, other than those legitimately and validly nominated through primary elections monitored by INEC, will be recognized. Any alternative forms of nomination that do not comply with the standards set forth in the Electoral Acts of 2026 and the ADC constitution will be deemed invalid and hereby rejected.

3. Oloye Taofeek Adegboyega Adegoke and others illegitimate Senate Candidates, Federal house of Representatives and State Assembly candidates whose personal information and qualifications were purportedly displayed by INEC are not known to ADC Oyo State and legitimate structure of the party in Oyo State- it does not matter if their personal information were displayed, it is a remain fact that they are not validly nominated by Oyo State ADC, the integrity of the process may have been compromised prior to the display of their personal information and qualifications.

4. Honorable Afeez Adelowo Ona-Ara and the members of his illegitimate group do not represent the party in Oyo State, and the general public is advised not to take these individuals seriously.

5. Furthermore, the party in Oyo State fully supports any lawful measures undertaken by our aggrieved candidates to reclaim their stolen mandates.

6. The meeting urged the members of the party in Oyo State to maintain their determination and advance their efforts to mobilize the general public to support the ADC in the upcoming Local Government elections in December 2026, as well as the General Elections in 2027.

THESE LOCUSTS HAVE MANIFESTLY INFESTED THE FIELD THAT ONCE POSSESSED PROSPECTS - OYO STATE ADC IN FOCUS.

Locusts do not pose a direct physical threat to humans. They do not bite or sting people, and they do not carry human diseases. However, massive swarms can cause severe indirect harm by destroying crops, which leads to food shortages and famine.

Between May and October of 2025, the ranks of the Oyo State ADC experienced significant growth with the integration of new members from diverse political parties.

The agricultural landscape of ADC Oyo State is transforming into lush green vegetation, fostering the growth of valuable crops with promising prospects for substantial harvests in 2027.

The host gardeners recognized proficient farmers among the new entrants and incorporated them into the ranking system alongside the established gardeners.

The newly established group of gardeners, led by Alhaji Yinka Olona and his executive committee members, commenced the cultivation of ADC crops across the fourteen delineated farmlands, corresponding to the federal constituencies in Oyo State.

Additionally, efforts were made to promote ADC within the three Senatorial district distinct confine- through Senatorial unveiling of ADC

The gardening team, along with their associates, eagerly anticipated the harvest season, expecting to yield one legitimate gubernatorial candidate, three legitimate senatorial candidates, fourteen legitimate candidates for federal constituencies, and thirty-two candidates for state assembly constituencies.

During the initial three months of 2026, the ADC in Oyo State observed a notable increase in its membership, with numerous prospective partners expressing interest in joining the party. However, it became evident that this influx included individuals whose nature can be likened to locusts, they, since the day of their entry, have been serious threat to the stability of the ADC in Oyo State.

Consequently, these partners engaged in the recruitment of individuals into an unauthorized structure (Omoluabi Progressive), thereby facilitating erosion of the party' s strength and capacity. This specifically undermines the unity and cohesion of the party in Oyo State- which is essential for meeting expected outcomes.

The "afomo", "mistletoe" (Omoluabi Progressive)
has even wrecked serious havoc to the coalition structure in Oyo State- before the locusts ruthlessly stripped Oyo State ADC farm field naked

These parasitic or epiphytic plants had attached themselves and grew on the branches (LGA) of the host plants to frustrate producing strong and credible candidates in Oyo State ADC.

Since the existence of the afomo (Omoluabi Progressive) in Oyo State ADC, the party has been witnessing serious existential abnormality in this order;

1. The establishment of an illegal structure, whose operations hold no legal standing- this is in direct violation of the constitutional order and the valid judgment issued by a court of competent jurisdiction. And the burden of non-recognition is overwhelming weigh heavily on them- nevertheless, they continue to operate in a painted shop as a form of political appeasement, in contempt of the several court's judgments.

2. Unresolved Governorship Primary Elections, which produces three (3) Governorship candidates as against one Governorship candidate as allowed by all standards.

3. Oyo State State has 50 elective positions to be contested for by various political parties (1 guber candidate; 3 Senatorial candidates; 14 Federal Rep candidates; and 32 State Assembly candidates). As it stands only 25 legitimate candidates emerged from legitimate primary Elections monitored by INEC- whose primary Elections results have been certified by INEC and the CTC have been received by Alhaji Yinka Olona led Oyo State ADC.

4. It is the height of abnormality for the individuals who did not participate in the INEC monitored primary Elections to begin parading themselves as party candidates- they went to the extent of producing posters, airing radio jingles and flying bill board campaigns.

For avoidance of doubt the electoral acts 2026 are sacrosanct, and these key points must be noted for information and directions.

1. A political party cannot submit its final list of candidates through a physical letter.Under modern electoral regulations, electoral commissions like Nigeria's Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) mandate that all political parties submit and upload their candidate lists exclusively through a dedicated online nomination portal.

2. Rules for Candidate Submission

i. Mandatory Portal Upload: Physical paper letters are no longer accepted for candidate submissions. Parties are issued unique access codes to log into an official digital portal.

ii.Required Digital Forms: Instead of a written letter, parties must digitally upload legally required forms for each candidate, such as Form EC9 (for candidates) and Form EC9B (for running mates).

iii. Strict Timelines: The portal automatically closes at the designated deadline. No late digital uploads or physical letters can bypass this automated cutoff.

iv. Digital Membership Registers:

Section 77(2)– (7) of the 2026 Electoral Act introduces a far-reaching reform by mandating every political party to maintain a comprehensive digital register of its members

3. Mode of nomination of candidates by political parties

i. Section 84(2) eliminates indirect primaries, restricting nomination procedures to direct primaries and consensus.

ii. Section 86 of the Act complements this framework by mandating that “all direct primaries shall be conducted in accordance with the guidelines of each political party.” This provision emphasizes the role of internal party constitutions and regulatory frameworks in shaping the conduct of primaries, ensuring that the process respects both statutory requirements and party-specific rules.

4. INEC mandated to monitor primary Elections.

I. The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) is legally mandated to monitor political party primary elections under Nigeria's Electoral Act 2026.

ii. INEC-monitored primary election under the Electoral Act 2026 introduces strict regulatory, legal, and operational consequences aimed at eliminating internal party fraud like the one we have been witnessing in Oyo State ADC and reducing post-election litigation. Under this legal framework, any failure by a political party to strictly comply with INEC monitoring guidelines automatically invalidates the primary election, completely barring the party from fielding a candidate for that specific office.

iii. The key structural and legal implications of INEC monitoring under the new Act include:

Strict Compliance with the 21-Day Rule

Mandatory Notice Requirement: According to Section 82, political parties must give INEC at least 21 days' written notice before conducting any primary, congress, or convention.

Automatic Invalidity: Failing to provide this notice or trying to host unmonitored "secret" primaries renders the entire process legally void.

Disqualification: Candidates emerging from un-notified primaries will not be accepted or published on the final ballot.

5. Consensus Candidates.
The Electoral Act 2026 (as amended) recognises consensus as one of the lawful methods through which political parties may nominate candidates for elective offices. Under the Act, parties are limited to either direct primaries or consensus, making consensus a legally regulated internal nomination mechanism rather than an informal political arrangement.

A consensus primary occurs where a political party agrees on a single aspirant without conducting a voting process. However, the law does not permit an imposed candidate. The arrangement must reflect a genuine and voluntary agreement among all aspirants seeking the same office.

The first mandatory condition is that every aspirant must consent to the consensus decision. If even one aspirant refuses to agree, the party cannot proceed by consensus and must instead conduct a direct primary in accordance with the Act.

Secondly, aspirants who step down must formally withdraw from the contest. This withdrawal is expected to be documented in writing to demonstrate that the decision was voluntary and not the result of coercion or undue influence.

Another condition is compliance with internal party rules. The party’s constitution and guidelines must expressly provide for consensus as a mode of nomination, and the process must follow those internal procedures strictly.

6. Candidate Substitution:

"A political party shall not be allowed to change or substitute its candidate whose name has been submitted under section 29 of this Act, except in the case of death or withdrawal by the candidate, provided that in the case of such withdrawal or death of a candidate, the political party affected shall, within 14 days of the occurrence of the event, hold another primary election to produce and submit a new candidate to the Commission for the election concerned."

All indications suggest that individuals asserting claims to the Oyo State ADC tickets without participating in the INEC-monitored primary elections are merely deceiving themselves.

It is good that they are providing means of livelihood for many of their advisers and apologists. At least "ti ebi ba kuro ninu ise,ise buse". Meaning — once a person can feed well, half of their worries are gone. Hunger is one of the worst forms of suffering, and when it is taken care of, strength, hope, and peace return.

No wonder many of the apologists of these illegal candidates suddenly resuscitated from their political oblivion and are now struggling for the limelight.

In conclusion, may I rest assure our esteemed members and our legitimate candidates that no letter conveying the list of the candidates of ADC (as being celebrated by the illegitimate candidates), no matter how beautifully couched and worded and signed by rightful signatories of the party, can replace the provisions of the electoral acts 2026 and the provisions of the constitution 2022(as amended).

Yes, there is no single "antidote" for locusts, but rather specific chemical (technical) and biological (Legal) insecticides used to kill or control them during an infestation.

Effective treatments include obtaining the INEC CTC primary Elections reports, which we have received already and eco-friendly biological (pre-election litigation), which infects and kills locusts of the referred characters within a few days or weeks to come. Oya, Ile ẹjọ ya.

Bí irọ́ bá lọ lógún ọdún, ọjọ́ kan ṣoṣo ni òótọ́ yóò báa" (If a lie travels for twenty years, the truth will catch up with it in just one day).

In circumstances, I am using this medium to appeal to our esteemed members and legitimate candidates to remain resolute and committed- victory is coming our way.

Osun State ADC Election performance:the effect of a miniature personality decorated as a five star general.

*By Bimpe Adelowo*

The performance of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in the recently concluded Osun State Governorship Election underscores the disparity between exaggerated political rhetoric and the tangible realities of grassroots significance, influence, and capability. This situation necessitates a reflective examination of how ostentatious grandstanding and excessive centralization concentration party' authority and monopolizing of the party' sensitive functions by the Interim National Secretary have obscured genuine internal democratic processes.

The political Almighty stature assumed by the prominent figure like Ogbeni Aregbesola, who claims to be the exclusive leader of the ADC in the South West region, exhibit a propensity for political grandstanding, an inflated perception of his own political significance, relevance and capacity which devoided the performative elements inherent in the elite political dynamics

*Direct Reflections on Political Theatrics*

Grandiosity vs. Reality: Ogbeni Aregbesola Aregbesola assumed relevance clearly exposes a disconnect where he and Omoluabi apologists wrap themselves in elite regalia while real and committed ADC leaders and members grapple with core foreseeable challenges.

The cult of personality Aregbesola preferred highlights how politically structured ADC in South West Zone for failure and dismal performance- he prefers outsized loyalist personas over institutional strength, internal party democracy, and collective ideology.

Such grand displays serve as a metaphor for tokenism—where symbolic posturing replaces genuine accountability, capacity, and the hard work of grassroots development.

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) performance in the Osun State Governorship Election—epitimized by the gubernatorial run of former State House Speaker Dr. Najeem Folasayo Salaam and backed by political figures like Rauf Aregbesola—highlights the friction between inflated political grandstanding ("five-star general" optics) and the modest, ground-level realities of local electoral weight.

*The Hard Reality of The Election Outcome*:

The electoral performance of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) is not a cause for celebration. The incumbent Governor, Ademola Adeleke, who was prevented from defecting to the ADC, achieved a significant lead with 511,067 votes, accounting for 52% of the total. Bola Oyebamiji of the All Progressives Congress (APC) followed with 444,815 votes, representing 45%. In stark contrast, Najeem Salaam of the ADC secured a distant third place with only 17,180 votes, which constitutes a mere 1.7% of the total votes cast.

The Disconnect: Despite massive pre-election media hype, a high-profile structural backing, and a "mega rally" atmosphere, the party failed to win a single Local Government Area (LGA) or significantly disrupt the two-horse race. This is a worst outing over the Ekiti governorship election

Out of 30 LGAs ADC could only manage to score above 1000 votes in 2 LGAs: Osogbo - 1, 503; Ejigbo- 5,053. In each remaining 28 LGAs ADC received less than 1000 votes.

In political analysis, decorating a personality like Aregbesola who has no party before he came to ADC position of Interim National Secretary of the party represents structural disproportion and elite relevance-style rhetoric which lacks actual political grassroots substance.

The Fallacy of Borrowed Might (The Godfather’s Eclipse)
The South West Zone ADC's entire strategy which is supposed to rely on expanded structure and open door policy only rested on the political machinery of Rauf Aregbesola that has diminished in all ramifications.

The recent displaying and electoral performance has given a verdict on whether Aregbesola remained the true general of Osun politics and by extension, South West Zonal politics.

With due respect, decorating an Aregbesola personality with the "five-star" status for the past gubernatorial glory proved to be an illusion after all.

*Lessons from the Outcome*

Titles Don't Cast Ballots: In Osun politics, elite political branding and media optics cannot be substituted for a deep strategic partnership and physical, localized mobilization networks.

The alternative-Party Trap: For an alternative party like ADC to succeed in a highly contentious environment like Osun, it must offer a radical, collaborative and independent political movement. Simply behaving like an offshoot of an angry APC faction leaves voters viewing the party as a tool for vengeance rather than governance.

In conclusion: ADC entered the Ekiti and Osun Governorship elections 2026 race with the bravado of an army led by a five-star general. Ultimately, we now discovered that when the decorations were stripped away by the voters, the actual political structure was too miniature to withstand the heavy artillery of the dominant political machineries.

The hierarchy of the National leadership of the ADC should by now understand that " bloated belly political stature is not a political pregnancy but a clear case of political fibroids, that need urgent political clinical attention"

To realize the anticipated electoral success for the ADC in 2027, particularly within the South West Zone, it is imperative for the party leadership to promptly identify and address the ADC shortcomings in the recent Ekiti and Osun Governorship elections. Additionally, the leadership must confront the self-imposed constitutional landmines and internal political structural inconsistencies that have significantly undermined the expected cohesion necessary for effective remediation.

Aregbesola should go and answer the petition against him- proxy press statement will not avail.

The leadership of the South West region of the ADC is characterized by integrity and a profound commitment to democratic organization and procedures-not shenanigans.

Recently, critical stakeholders and leaders from the South West region of the ADC submitted a petition against Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, the interim National Secretary, in accordance with the constitutional procedures and requirements of the ADC. This petition was directed to the national leadership of our esteemed party for appropriate action.

Regrettably, a group of unidentified individuals, led by Hon. Akinbowale Omole, who self-identifies as the National Vice Chairman for the South West Zone, issued a press statement that is premature and inconsistent with the ADC's constitutional procedures. Given his assumed position, one would expect him to be familiar with the necessary protocols for addressing formal allegations.

One might question the political credentials of these individuals, particularly as they fail to adhere to established procedures.

Allegations have been made against Ogbeni Aregbesola. Allowing him the opportunity to defend himself would be a civilized approach, provided the petition is properly filed in accordance with the ADC constitution. However, these individuals appear eager to obscure their numerous transgressions and those of their political mentor, raising questions about their motivations.

For the sake of public clarity, we wish to make the following points:

1. Hon. Akinbowale Omole may have lost touch with reality, potentially due to the repercussions of the recent Ekiti governorship election loss.

2. The claim of this group calling themselves leaders of ADC in the South West is laughable and fluctuates the truth and the fact in the clear term of misrepresentation and such does not accurately represent who they really are.

In fact the series of the events and activities within and outside the party have brutally defeated their claims- for instance:
- During the membership revalidation and registration exercise, they manipulated the process through their mentor, Ogbeni Aregbesola. Consequently, Ekiti State registered only 1,097 members, while Osun State registered 3,470 members, despite receiving registration materials on credit, the repayment of which remains uncertain.
- These individuals managed both the Ekiti governorship primary election where they disregarded all democratic procedures as outlined in the ADC constitution, skewing and manipulating the primary election in favour of a less viable candidate. The results of the Ekiti governorship election reflect a dismal performance, with our party securing only 3 percent of the total valid votes.

3. We feel it is necessary to inform the public that these individuals and their mentor specialize in manipulation, deception, and grandstanding. The public should remain vigilant regarding their tactics.

4. Hon. Akinbowale Omole was never appointed as National Vice Chairman, nor was anyone mentioned in their press statement appointed to the South West Zone Executive Committee.

5. The only recognized South West Zone Executive Committee is led by Hon. Abdulraman Owokoniran, and there have been no objections raised against the emergence of this committee.

6. For clarity, the establishment of a parallel executive committee does not constitute a legitimate objection to the previously concluded actions; rather, it represents a rebellion and a violation of the party's constitution. We are unaware of any protest letter submitted by these individuals requesting the derecognition of the Owokoniran-led executive committee. So the cannot validly lay claim to any office- such claims lack validity in law and it is illegal.

7. In their press statement, they falsely claimed that the list of party candidates was ratified by the National Executive Committee (NEC). This assertion is misleading; the NEC meeting on May 30, 2026, only approved the validity of the State Houses of Assembly, National Assembly, governorship, and presidential primaries Elections. Please note, the approval of the process is distinct from the ratification of the candidate list; these two concepts are not synonymous in context or semantics. So Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola should come out clean on how he issued an authorized letter on 14th July 2026 to mislead INEC in tampering with the system in order to upload about 70% placeholders who never bought party's nomination and thus denying those legitimate candidates who participated in the valid primary elections monitored by INEC across south West Zone.

8. However, on the issue of South West Zonal leadership, for avoidance of doubt we wish to clarify that the following individuals constitute the recognized leadership caucus of the South West Zone:

- Alhaji Mohammad Ashorobi - Lagos
- Prof. Olatunji Olateju - Lagos State
- Prof. Aderemi Adedibu - Oyo State
- Chief Alani Opaleye - Ogun State
- Chief Ibini Meshak - Ondo State
- Prof. Kolapo Olusola-Eleka - Ekiti State
- Senator Felix Ogunwale - Osun State
- Engineer Olajide Adeniji - Osun State
- Hon. Ilesanmi Omolayo - Chairman, Ekiti State
- Alhaji Yinka Olona - Chairman, Oyo State
- Otunba Sesan Soluade - Chairman, Ogun State.
- Hon. Eyiowuawi Razak
- Alhaja Sidikatu Ganiyu
- Amb. Babatunde Oke

9. Any group claiming leadership of the South West Zone other than these esteemed leaders should be regarded as a political contrivance associated with the Omoluabi Progressive faction of Ogbeni Aregbesola, and the public should exercise caution regarding their claims.

The petition against Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola has been submitted to the appropriate national authorities, including our presidential candidate and his running mate, for necessary action. Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola should be afforded the opportunity to defend himself in accordance with the provisions of the ADC constitution.

We urge our members and the legitimate party's candidates across the South West states to remain calm; by process and procedures, we are so confident we are going to be vindicated- we are aligned with the law, and the law is on our side. All usurped mandates will be reclaimed.

VICTORY OF JIMI LAWAL: LIGHT TRIUMPHING OVER DARKNESS.

I, Oyo State ADC Chairman, Alhaji Yinka Olona, expresses my heartfelt congratulations to Chief Jimi Lawal, the ADC flag bearer for Ogun State, on his recent victory in the Federal High Court against the forces of destabilization.

On May 23, 2026, Chief Jimi Lawal participated in the ADC Governorship Primary Elections in Ogun State, which were conducted by a legitimate committee constituted by the National Organizing Secretary, with Barr. Adebimpe Adelowo serving as Secretary. Following the completion of the electoral process, despite various challenges, Chief Lawal was declared the winner and designated as the ADC Governorship candidate for Ogun State.

Regrettably, attempts were made by agents of destabilization to undermine the democratic process through a parallel primary committee established by an unauthorized national officer of the party.

However, the Federal High Court has today confirmed and validated the legitimacy of the process through which Chief Jimi Lawal was elected as the ADC Governorship candidate for Ogun State, affirming its compliance with the Electoral Act and the ADC constitution.

It is evident that we are on the right path in Oyo State. This serves as reassurance for our candidates who emerged through the legitimate primary elections monitored by INEC, indicating that there is no cause for concern; victory is assured despite the high-handedness and scheming of those who seek to compromise legitimate processes.

Once again, I extend my congratulations to my esteemed brother, Chief Jimi Lawal, on this significant victory.

PUBLIC NOTICE

THE POLITICAL BANDITS HAVE TRANSFORMED THEIR IYAGANKU TRANSACTIONAL SHOP INTO A CAPTIVITY DEN.

This is to alert our esteemed members and general public that Oyo State ADC Secretariat did not the notice captioned "NOTICE TO ALL ADC HOUSE OF ASSEMBLY CANDIDATES" which invited State House Assembly candidate for collection of INEC nomination forms on 14th July 2026, such notice did not emanate from Oyo State ADC Secretariat; this is handiwork of the political bandits masquerading as factional ADC in Oyo State.

These bandit elements have unlawfully established an illegal structure to assume the functions and duties of the legally recognized ADC structure in Oyo State, led by Alhaji Yinka Olona. They are actively attempting to deceive unsuspecting ADC members and the public for the purpose of hostage-taking.

They have been illicitly using the ADC name to convene unauthorized meetings and engage in other nefarious activities, in blatant violation of the existing court judgment.

These individuals primarily engage in name-dropping, impersonation, extortion, and gaslighting.

Please note that the Oyo State ADC Secretariat has distributed INEC forms EC 9, EC 13C, and EC 13D to all our National Assembly candidates, as well as INEC forms EC 9 and EC 13E to all our State Assembly candidates, in accordance with directives from the appropriate national authority of the ADC.

We strongly advise our esteemed members and the general public to disregard these impostors, as their existence is currently subject of litigation.
