Dear Intentional Wife,

There is a Yoruba adage that says, “Obìnrin sọ ìwà nù, ó ní òun ni ìrì ọkọ” — meaning, a woman loses her good character and then blames it on not having a good husband.

Character is one of the greatest treasures a wife can cultivate.

Beauty may attract attention, but character is what sustains relationships.

Beauty may fade with time, but good character will continue to speak.

Even if you try to pretend you have good character or package yourself to appear that way, just like smoke, it cannot be hidden forever. Eventually, what is inside will find its way out. Character cannot be permanently disguised.

As a wife, you must intentionally work on yourself and develop godly character traits such as kindness, patience, humility, forgiveness, wisdom, and self-control.

The Bible says in Proverbs 31:26-
She opens her mouth with wisdom, and the law of kindness is on her tongue.

A woman's character is revealed through her words, her actions, and the way she responds to others.

I understand that some character flaws have become strongholds, and breaking free from them has not been easy.

But can I remind you that the Potter is still in the business of moulding and remoulding?

Turn to God and allow Him to work on those deep-rooted areas of your character.

He is able to transform what we cannot change by our own strength.

I remember a decision I made some time ago when I was still single when a friend looked me straight in the eyes and told me that I used too many abusive words and that if I didn't work on it, I might struggle to keep relationships.

That conversation challenged me, and I made a decision to allow God to help me become better.

God is more than willing to help and transform you.

Remember, your character will not only affect you; it will also influence generations after you.

Let us choose to work on ourselves, not just for today, but for the sake of the next generation as well .

Dear Intentional Wife,

Sometimes, the simplest gestures have the greatest impact.

And I mean it.

Simple habits like giving your husband a hug, saying "thank you," offering a gentle touch, or speaking words of affirmation can go a long way in strengthening your marriage.

Sadly, I have realized these little gestures are gradually fading away in many homes.

Why?
For some, life has become so busy that they simply forget. For others, these gestures have been taken for granted. And some were never raised in homes where affection was openly expressed.
I understand because I was once in that same position until I made a conscious decision to change.

And since I started being intentional about these simple expressions, I've received positive feedback—not just from my husband, but from my children as well.

One thing I have noticed is that whenever my husband is stressed, a simple hug helps him relax. It calms him down and reminds him that he is loved, supported, and not carrying life's burdens alone.

Never underestimate the power of small, consistent acts of love. They may seem insignificant, but over time they build emotional connection and make your home a place of peace, warmth, and security.

The habits we practice consistently eventually become part of who we are. And those little acts of love can transform your marriage in remarkable ways.

The little things really do matter.

What's ONE small act of love you will do for your husband today?

Type it in the comments so we can encourage one another.

I will go first in the comments.

Dear Intentional wife

A united home is not a perfect home, but it is a strong one. It is a place where love speaks louder than pride. A united couple allows forgiveness to flow freely. Do not allow the enemy to escalate little misunderstandings.

When couples work together hand in hand, they are able to achieve anything they set their minds to do.

The Bible says in Matthew 18:19, “Again I say unto you, that if two of you shall agree on earth as touching anything that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven.” You don’t necessarily need to struggle in prayer alone—there is power in agreement.

When you are constantly in disagreement, you only delay the things you desire to achieve.

With unity, you can climb the highest mountain, defeat the enemy, and do the impossible.

Be intentional about protecting your marriage. Refuse to let anger take root.

Work on building friendship, understanding, and patience.

And always remember that you are a team.

Dear Intentional Wife,

Guard jealously the unity in your home, because there is power in unity.

It is often the very thing the enemy fights the most in marriage, because he understands how powerful agreement is.

The conflict, strife, and unforgiveness are not accidental—they are distractions used by the enemy to keep you and your spouse divided. Because where there is division, strength is weakened. But where there is unity, there is power, stability, and grace. For one shall chase 1,000 and two shall chase 10,000

This is not to say that you will never disagree. Infact differences will come—it is part of life and growth. But wisdom is found in how quickly you come back together.

Please do not allow misunderstandings to linger. Choose RECONCILIATION. Choose PEACE. Choose EACH OTHER.

Unity is so important that it commands the blessing of God. As it is written in : “How good and pleasant it is when brethren dwell together in unity.” When unity is present, God releases favor, peace, and divine covering over the home.

In the next few days, I will be sharing more on the power of unity why unity should never be taken lightly in your marriage

Prayer:
Father, let the power of unity be strong in my home. Bind us together with a cord of love that cannot be broken. Amen.
