**A Call for Justice, Transparency, and Peace in Saanu Community, Ijaye, Akinyele Local Government**
We, the concerned members of Saanu community, are calling on the Oyo State Government, the Olubadan-in-Council, the Nigeria Police Force, and all relevant authorities to urgently investigate the ongoing issues affecting our community.
There are serious concerns surrounding the appointment of Mr. Saka Babalola as Baale. Many residents state that the appointment was made without proper consultation or notification of the community. We respectfully request clarification on how and why this appointment was made.
We also allege that large portions of community land have been sold without the knowledge or consent of the people of Saanu. Community members who questioned or opposed these land sales have reportedly been taken to various police stations on numerous occasions instead of having their concerns addressed.
One recent incident reportedly involved Baba Afeez. According to community members, on **30 June 2026**, police officers accompanied by Mr. Yusuf, who is alleged to have purchased land from Mr. Saka Babalola, arrested Baba Afeez. He was charged in court the same day and remanded at **Iyaganku Correctional Centre** before being granted bail the following day.
We are also concerned that these events have created fear, tension, and division within our once peaceful community.
In addition, our community health centre, which was constructed through the support of Murphy, was reportedly destroyed, depriving residents of an important healthcare facility.
We have video evidence and other materials relating to these concerns and are prepared to present them to the appropriate authorities to support an impartial investigation.
This is not a call for violence or conflict. It is a peaceful appeal for justice, accountability, transparency, and the protection of the rights of every member of the Saanu community.
We respectfully urge the Oyo State Government, the Olubadan-in-Council, the Inspector General of Police, the Oyo State Commissioner of Police, and all relevant authorities to investigate these allegations thoroughly and ensure that justice is done and lasting peace is restored in Saanu community.
