The outcome of the arrow is tied to the strength and skill of the one holding it.
Even if children are arrows, not every arrow hits the mark.
It is the one held by mighty, intentional, God-dependent hands that is aimed right, flies true, and lands where it was destined.
How to Shoot Like the Mighty
1. Have a Clear Aim 🎯
An arrow without direction is wasted.
Know the direction you are aiming your children toward. No aimless shooting. Don’t stand for something today and tomorrow you compromise before their eyes. Inconsistency breeds confusion.
Be steady. Be clear.
Don’t set a standard today and ignore it tomorrow. It weakens both the arrow and the hand holding it.
2. Rely on Strength from Above
“Except the Lord builds the house, the builder builds in vain” — Psalm 127 1
Even the strongest archer fails without God and a poorly shaped arrow cannot fly far.
If you can build structures around their academics, meals, and self-care, you can also build structures around their walk with God.
Do your children have fixed routines for prayer and the Word just like they do for school?
It starts with routines, becomes habits, and eventually forms character.
3. Be Intentional with Their Mind Gates.
What they see. What they hear. What they absorb.
Arrows don’t sharpen themselves.
Every correction, every conversation, every person, every content they engage is shaping the arrow they’re becoming.
It’s better for them to be bored than their minds be carelessly engaged.
So the question is not just:
“What kind of children are we raising?”
But rather:
“What kind of hands are raising them?”
