Advocacy Visit to the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs

Today, LIFT Project team paid an advocacy visit to the Zamfara State Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs as part of our engagement with key stakeholders for the LIFT Project (Linking Women through Information, Fistula Referral and Treatment).

The visit provided an opportunity to introduce the project, share our implementation approach, and seek the Ministry's guidance and support towards improving access to care for women living with obstetric fistula across Zamfara State.

We appreciate the Ministry for the warm reception and valuable insights. We look forward to strengthening collaboration as we work together to restore hope, dignity, and access to care.

Our CEO, Isah Hamisu, actively participated in a high-level stakeholders training on Preventing and Countering Violent Extremism (PCVE), held at the Zamfara State Government House.

The high-level session featured a resource delegation from Colombia and was organized through the Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA) and the National Counter Terrorism Centre (NCTC).

As a leading organization in Zamfara State’s development sector, Iqraa Foundation remains a key player in peacebuilding and countering violent extremism. The training concluded with the formal presentation of a certificate of participation to our CEO

‎A New Chapter Begins!

‎We are delighted to announce the successful signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between IQRAAA Humanitarian and Charity Foundation and Lonibu Health Development Foundation for the implementation of the LIFT Project (Linking Women through Information, Fistula Referral and Treatment).
‎
‎The LIFT Project is a one-year initiative designed to improve awareness of obstetric fistula, strengthen community referral systems, and restore hope and dignity to women living with obstetric fistula across the 14 Local Government Areas of Zamfara State.
‎
‎Implementation will be carried out in three phases, with each phase spanning three months.
‎
‎📍 Phase One (Central Zone): Gusau, Bungudu, Tsafe (Chafe), Maru.
‎
‎This will be followed by:
‎
‎📍 Phase Two (Northern Zone): Zurmi, Shinkafi, Kaura Namoda, Birnin Magaji/Kiyawa
‎
‎📍 Phase Three (Western Zone): Anka, Bakura, Bukkuyum, Gummi, Maradun, Talata Mafara
‎
‎Together, we are committed to ensuring that no woman living with obstetric fistula is left behind.

PARTNERSHIP ANNOUNCEMENT

We are delighted to announce a strategic partnership between IQRAAA Humanitarian and Charity Foundation and Lonibu Health Development Foundation for the implementation of the LIFT Project (Linking Women through Information, Fistula Referral and Treatment).

As part of this collaboration, the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) will be formally signed tomorrow at 10:00 AM at the IQRAAA Humanitarian and Charity Foundation Head Office, Unguwar Dallatu, Gusau, Zamfara State.

This partnership marks an important step towards restoring hope, dignity, and improving access to care for women living with obstetric fistula across the 14 Local Government Areas of Zamfara State.

Together, we are connecting women to hope, healing, and dignity.

To Reach PEACE, Teach PEACE.

We are incredibly proud to share this documentary video highlighting the powerful outcomes of the project, successfully implemented in Zamfara State!

This impactful initiative was made possible with the support of LEAP Africa through the Naijayouthfund.Through this project, we were able to create lasting change by:
1. Empowering victims of violence with a 1 Million Naira livelihood grant to rebuild their lives.

2. Providing vital mental health and psychosocial support services to build emotional resilience.

3. Training local stakeholders on Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) mechanisms and reflective structured dialogue to foster long-term community peace. A massive thumbs up to our dedicated project team members for their tireless hard work!

We also extend our deepest gratitude to our partners, most notably the Zamfara State Government and its MDAs, for their invaluable cooperation and support.
