RAYAAS (Rayuwar Mu A Yau Youth Awareness Association) is developing a pilot project to bring education to displaced children in Zamfara State!

THE PROBLEM:
🔴 Over 216,000 people displaced
🔴 NO formal IDP camps in Zamfara
🔴 Children living in abandoned buildings, motor parks, and cattle markets
🔴 Over 800,000 children out of school
🔴 Displaced children have ZERO access to education

OUR SOLUTION:

📢 OFFICIAL ANNOUNCEMENT – RAYAAS

I am pleased to announce that RAYAAS has developed a comprehensive security framework titled:

**"Community Monitoring Associations and Digital Community Policing"** for Zamfara State.

This framework proposes:

✅ Community-led security monitoring
✅ Digital reporting systems for rapid response
✅ Accountability mechanisms for government and security agencies

The framework will be submitted to the Zamfara State Government and humanitarian organizations on behalf of RAYAAS.

This initiative is inspired by our advocacy work and commitment to community development in Zamfara.

We welcome questions, suggestions, and potential partnerships.

We will provide updates as the process progresses.

📢 RAYAAS AT WORLD REFUGEE DAY 2026

Today, RAYAAS participated in the World Refugee Day Road Walk organized
by NCFRMI in Gusau.

We walked alongside government agencies, civil society organizations,
and international partners to show solidarity with refugees and displaced
persons in Zamfara State.

The State Coordinator of NCFRMI appreciated our participation and
collaboration. We are pleased to have been recognized as a partner and
look forward to continuing our work together on future activities.

We remain committed to supporting vulnerable communities.

📢 RAYAAS at World Refugee Day 2026

RAYAAS has been invited by the National Commission for Refugees,
Migrants and IDPs (NCFRMI) to participate in the 2026 World Refugee Day
Road Walk.

Theme: "Until Everyone Is Safe"

📅 Date: Monday, 22nd June 2026
⏰ Time: 9:00 AM
📍 Starting Point: Emir's Palace, Gusau

We are honored to join other stakeholders in showing solidarity with
refugees and displaced persons in Zamfara State.

We remain committed to supporting vulnerable communities.

We are calling on the Federal Government and the security agencies to put a stop ✋ to the killings and kidnappings ravaging the country.

Safeguarding the life and properties of the citizens is a sole duty of government, therefore the government should employ a swift approach in order to ensure that it citizens no longer lives in fear and safeguard them from harm or danger poised by the miscreant causing unrest and violence in some part of the country.

📢 RAYAAS ON THE MOVE: TWO VISITS, BIG DISCOVERIES

Yesterday we visited two key offices in Gusau.

🇺🇳 FIRST STOP: NCFRMI (Refugee Commission)

The Chairman welcomed us warmly. We discussed our work – educational advocacy, out-of-school children, and supporting displaced persons.

He explained that NCFRMI provides ALL aspects of support to refugees: healthcare, education, skills training, legal aid, shelter, resettlement, and psychosocial support.

He advised us to connect with Ministries of Labour and Health, and to get a permanent office.

Then he made a promise:

🗣️ "I will work shoulder to shoulder with you whenever your activities arise."

A new partner. A new door opened.

🛠️ SECOND STOP: MINISTRY OF LABOUR

Here we learned something many people don't know.

The Trade Certificate – required for any government hands-on job – is NOW available in Gusau (Federal Secretariat). Previously only in Kaduna.

Most people don't know this. So RAYAAS will help spread the word.

We will also write a formal letter to explore collaboration on skills training and job placement for our youth.

💡 WHAT WE LEARNED

• NCFRMI is ready to work with us
• Trade Certificate is now in Gusau
• We need a permanent office
• We need to connect with Ministries of Labour and Health

🎯 NEXT STEPS

• Write to Ministry of Labour
• Begin awareness on Trade Certificate
• Look for office space
• Follow up with NCFRMI

📢 PRESS RELEASE: 8th May 2026

URGENT – ZAMFARA STUDENTS AT RISK OF MISSING NECO DEADLINE

A significant number of government-sponsored secondary school students have already lost WAEC. Now, they are at risk of missing the NECO registration deadline of 25th May 2026.

We have submitted a formal complaint to the Zamfara State House of Assembly.

"These students are in school. They have done nothing wrong. If they miss the NECO deadline, they will finish secondary school with no certificate, no qualification, and no future."
