REPORT OF THE 3RD CONGRESS MEETING / HANDOVER & INAUGURATION OF NEW EXCOS FOR ( CITN) GOMBE HELD ON FRIDAY, 24TH APRIL 2026 AT ABMAR HALL, GOMBE
1.0 INTRODUCTION & CONGRESS NOTICE
Following the expiration of the two-year tenure of the District Branch Chairperson, the CITN Gombe & District Society convened its 3rd Congress Meeting on Friday, 24th April 2026 at 4:00 PM prompt at ABMAR HALL, Opp. FTH Gombe .
In line with the Society’s Constitution, Executive Committee positions were adjusted to fill vacancies.
The following positions were declared vacant and filled by consensus/election:
Vacant Positions:
1. Assistant Secretary
2. Financial Secretary
3. Treasurer
4. Public Relations Officer (P.R.O.)
5. Legal Adviser
2.0 NEW EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE 2026-2028
Based on hierarchy and consensus, the following members emerged as the new EXCO:
1. Mr. Kanu Ozioma FCTI — Chairman
2. Danjuma Abdullahi ACTI—Vice Chairman 1
3. Saleh Musa Shall, Esq ACTI— Vice Chairman
4. Nasiru Salihu Jauro ACTI — Secretary General
5. Abubakar Yakubu Ahmad ACTI— Assistant Secretary
6. Naomi Hamidu Garba ACTI— Treasurer
7. Ahmad Aliyu ACTI — Financial Secretary
8. Ibrahim Abubakar ACTI— Public Relations Officer (P.R.O.)

3.0 SUMMARY OF HANDOVER ADDRESS BY OUTGOING CHAIRPERSON
Madam Sa’adatu I. Silong, ACTI
The Outgoing Chairperson presented her official handover address, highlighting key achievements of her two-year tenure as pioneer female Chairperson:
Key Milestones:
1. Strategic Youth Engagement:Consistent NYSC Advocacy at Amada Orientation Camp for Batch A, B, C and its Streams to promote taxation as a career, resulting in increased interest from corps members.
2. Institutional Diplomacy: High-level visits to GIRS, Ministry of Budget & Economic Planning, Office of the Accountant-General, Auditor-General, and FIRS State Office to deepen inter-agency collaboration.
3. Visibility & Growth: Strengthened the Society’s relevance, visibility, and professional footprint across Gombe State.
Recommendations to Incoming EXCO:
1. Institutionalize annual stakeholder engagement calendar.
2. Formalize partnerships through MOUs for training and consultancy.
3. Intensify membership drives among public servants and corps members.
4. Adopt digital follow-up mechanisms for prospective members.
5. Sustain the forthcoming Inter-Secondary School Tax Competition in collaboration with CITN National HQ.
She concluded by expressing gratitude to her EXCO, elders, and members, and wished the new leadership success.
4.0 SUMMARY OF REMARKS BY NEW CHAIRMAN
Mr. Kanu Ozioma, FCTI
The new Chairman, Mr. Kanu Ozioma, FCTI, appreciated the immediate past Chairperson, Madam Sa’adatu I. Silong, and the entire outgoing EXCO for their dedication and the progress recorded by the District.
He called for unity, teamwork, and prayers for the continued success and growth of CITN Gombe & District Society under the new administration.
5.0 CONCLUSION
The 3rd Congress was successfully held with impressive attendance. The transition was peaceful, constitutional, and well-received by members. The new EXCO has assumed office with a mandate to consolidate on past gains and advance the Society’s professional relevance in Gombe State.
