CITN Gombe and District Society Exco Visit to NYSC Orientation Camp, Amada

Yesterday Wednesday, the Executives of the CITN Gombe & District Society were privileged to visit the NYSC Orientation Camp, Amada, for a sensitization outreach to corps members.

The Chairman, Mr Kanu Ozioma FCTI, CITN Gombe and District Society , delivered a goodwill message on behalf of the National 17th President of the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria -CITN encouraging corps members to embrace professionalism and taxation as a career path.

The Vice Chairman 1 Mr. Danjuma Abdullahi Manga delivered a lecture on the modalities of becoming a member of the Institute outlining the pathways through the Professional Tax Examination and other approved routes.

During the session, we also emphasized the importance of having sound knowledge of the New Tax Act, which came into effect on 1st January 2026. To support this, the District Society distributed hard copies of the New Tax Act to corps members.

Additionally, two corps members were appointed to coordinate and compile the list of interested individuals who wish to join CITN through the Professional Tax Examination route.

NATIONAL TAX AWARENESS DAY 2026 GOMBE, SUCCESSFULLY CONCLUDED.
Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria -CITN , CITN Gombe and District Society has successfully observed the National Tax Awareness Day 2026.

Theme: Tax Awareness for National Growth: Reforms, Compliance and Shared Prosperity_
Date: Thursday, 25th June 2026

Activities Carried Out:

1. Tax Awareness Walk: We took off from the Gombe State Internal Revenue Service office. We moved through the Tunfure Area to distribute flyers and copies of the New Tax Laws, proceeded to Jekadafari Street and stopped at San Hussain Supermarket for a live Public Awareness Discussion. From there, we moved to Nasara GSM Village at Old Gombe Line, and finally covered strategic areas of the New Market.
Tax education materials, flyers and New Tax Laws were distributed throughout.

2. Interactive Radio Programmes on Amana Radio Gombe:
English Session:
Thursday, 25th June, 4:00 PM – 5:00 PM
Hausa Session:
Friday, 26th June, 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM

Both sessions featured expert discussions, Q&A, and clarifications on tax matters for the general public.

I had the honour to address taxpayers at San- Hussaini Super Market on the importance of this day, the need for voluntary compliance, and timely payment of taxes for national growth.

Appreciation:

My sincere gratitude goes to the Nigeria Revenue Service - NRS , and the Gombe State Internal Revenue Service - GIRS - GIRS for their maximum cooperation and support that made this exercise a huge success.

Together, let’s keep building a tax-conscious society for national development.

NATIONAL TAX AWARENESS DAY 2026
Theme: Tax Awareness for National Growth: Reforms, Compliance and Shared Prosperity
Date: Thursday, 25th June 2026

The Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria, Gombe & District Society, joins other State and District Societies nationwide, including the FCT Abuja, to observe the National Tax Awareness Day as set aside by the CITN.

This day is dedicated to sensitizing taxpayers, professionals, and the general public on the importance of tax reforms, voluntary compliance, and the role of taxation in achieving shared prosperity for national growth.

Activities lined up for the Day in Gombe include:

1. Tax Awareness Walk
A trekking campaign around strategic locations within the Gombe metropolis to engage citizens and distribute tax education materials.

2. Interactive Radio
Programmes on Amana Radio Gombe

Recap of Courtesy Visits to Key Stakeholders in Gombe State
Date: June 13, 2026

Introduction
As part of efforts to strengthen institutional relationships, the Executive Committee of the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria (CITN) Gombe & District Society undertook a series of courtesy visits to key stakeholders in Gombe State last week.

The delegation was led by the Chairman of the District Society, Mr. Kanu Ozioma, FCTI, FCNA.

Objectives of the Visits
1. To formally introduce the newly elected Executive Committee members to strategic stakeholders in Gombe State.
2. To strengthen collaboration and foster a cordial working relationship between the District Society and relevant state institutions.

Stakeholders Visited
During the week, the delegation paid courtesy visits to the following offices:

1. Gombe State Internal Revenue Service (GIRS)
Received by the Executive Chairman, Hajiya Aisha Adamu, FCTI, FCNA.

2. Office of the Acting State Auditor General
Received by the Acting Auditor General, Alhaji Umar Adamu Dukku, ACNA, who is also a Member of the Financial Reporting Council of Nigeria (FRCN).

3. Gombe State Bureau of Public Service Reforms
Received by the Director General, Alh. Abubakar Hassan, FCNA, FCTI.

Note: Alh. Hassan currently supervises the Bureau, is the former Chairman of ANAN Gombe State Branch, and also serves as Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Education.

4. Nigeria Revenue Service – Gombe Zonal Office Covering Gombe, Adamawa, and Taraba States.
Received by the Acting Sole Administrator, Alhaji Danjuma Abdullahi Manga, FCTI, who also serves as the 1st Vice Chairman of CITN Gombe & District Society.

Outcome
The visits were successful and well received. All stakeholders expressed their commitment to continued collaboration with CITN Gombe & District Society in promoting professionalism, tax education, and fiscal reforms in the state.

OFFICIAL ANNOUNCEMENT OF THE 2026 COUNCIL ELECTION RESULTS

Dear Esteemed Members,
The Institute is pleased to announce the successful conclusion of the 2026 Council Election.

Following the presentation of the results by the Chief Scrutineer, Prince Rasaq Kunle Quadri, FCTI, at the 2026 Annual General Meeting of the Institute, we congratulate the following members who have been duly elected into the Institute's Council:
1. Dr. Oshadare Wisdom Ajayi – 4,217 votes

2. Dr. Akinbowale Sileola Adebusola – 4,088 votes

3. Dr. Abubakar Zaid – 3,669 votes

4. Mrs. Olabiyi Abisola Ajike – 3,657 votes

We thank all candidates who participated in the election for their commitment, courage, and willingness to serve the Institute.

We also express our sincere appreciation to all members who voted and ensured a successful and credible electoral process.

As we move forward, we encourage all members to support the newly elected Council Members as they work with other leaders of the Institute to advance our shared vision and strengthen the tax profession.
