GONA YOUTH PRESENTED AN AWARD OF EXCELLENCE TO SARKIN SHANU FOUNDATION

The leadership of Gona Youth Development Association has presented an award of honor and excellence to Alh. Abubakar Muhammad Bello (MNATE), The C.E.O/Founder, Sarkin Shanu Foundation for Youth and Women Development.

The nomination of sarkin shanu is in recognition of his selfless service to humanity and especially in the areas of youth development, and, to encourage him to continue offering more of such philanthropic gestures.

Gona Youth Development Association under the Chairmanship of Muhammad Muhammad S. KatamMuhammad S. Katam Katam has appointed and inaugurated a Political Candidates Engagement Adhoc Committee which took immediate effect. The committee members include the following:

The terms of reference of the committee are as follows:

√ Organize a manifesto presentation forum for political candidates at all levels effective from 20th of June to 20th of August, 2022.

√ Review the exco drafted MoU which will be signed by the youth organization and political candidates.

√ Engage relevant stakeholders/authorities on the development, and constitutitue a five (5) membered MoU steering committee at each district of Akko North Constituency.

√ Generate a funding strategy for the events (Venue, Public Adress System, Refreshment, Banner e.t.c) and execute other complementary duties.

The leadership of Gona Youth Development Association has paid a working visit to Lawanti Youth Development Association on Sunday, 19th of June, 2022 at Lawanti Town.

The aim of the visit is to familiarize with sister youth organizations having similar aims of and objectives and on how to establish a possible working relationship in the areas of community development services.

To encourage the sister association to do more, a commendation letter was served to them in recognition of their selfless services to humanity.

GYDA will continue to partner/collaborate with other Gona Youth groups in the implementation of its programs/projects.

The advocacy vanguard for Akko North Development in its effort to ensure quality education for all has paid an inspection visit to Zagaina Primary and Junior Secondary School.

The vanguard which was led by the Program Pfficer on Education to the association, Idris Abubakar was warmly welcomed by the village head of Zagaina, and the management of the school and discussed issues of concern and intervention.

The overcrowded school which is a two (2) block of four (4) classrooms contains over 900 pupil who managed study in a nonconductive environment.

The visitation team has gathered all necessary information which shall be reviewed by the executive council and engage all stakeholders concerned for immediate intervention.

The leadership of Gona Youth Development Association have received with deep sense of shock and immense sympathy, the terrible news of the terrorist attack on its patriotic member in person of SANI MAIGARI BETO on Sunday evening, 30th of May, 2022.

In the late hours of Wednesday, 1st Jun, 2022, the leadership & membership of the association paid a sympathy visit to the victim to commiserates with him and his family over the dreadful attack.

The association under stewardship of Comr. Muhammad S. Katam has strongly condemns in totality such senseless attacks on innocent people, and stands in solidarity with the security agencies against such acts that attempt to incite fear and disrupt lives in our communities.

The attack is a powerful reminder to all concerned authorities of the importance of security agencies to intensify their efforts to eliminate all forms of violent acts in the community.

The youth group proceeded to Gona Police Division to intimate them on incident and requested to thoroughly investigate the case and take all necessary action to prevent future occurrences.

We pray may God Almighty grant the victim good health and wisdom, as we wish him speedy recovery.

As 2023 general elections gather momentum, youth under the aegis of Gona Youth Development Association has on 22nd May, 2022 convened a youth stakkeholders meeting in its effort to produce credible political candidates in all strata of political positions.

The meeting which had in attendance the presence of representatives of sister youth organizations has resolved to engage all stakeholders concerned to produce political leaders that satisfied and succeeded the quality analysis that will be soon operated by group of experts which will commence immediately after primary election.

In the same vein, the youth groups also agreed to invite all candidates from all political parties for a manifesto presentation and signing of MoU inline with the demands and yearnings of Akko North electorates.

𝐂𝐎𝐀𝐋𝐈𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍 𝐎𝐅 𝐆𝐎𝐍𝐀 (𝐀𝐊𝐊𝐎 𝐍𝐎𝐑𝐓𝐇) 𝐘𝐎𝐔𝐓𝐇 𝐆𝐑𝐎𝐔𝐏𝐒 𝐌𝐄𝐓 𝐓𝐎𝐃𝐀𝐘

The Coalition of youth groups from Akko North Constituency has today met and extensively discussed on the issues bedeviling the constituency cutting across education, health, leadership, voters education and politics ahead of the 2023 general elections.

The meeting which had in attendance the presence of representatives of youth and community development organizations has identified some major challenges affecting the constituency - to include under representation in respect of political offices, marginalisation in terms of infrastructures, underdevelopment in terms of both human and capital projects despite its highest population and number of registered voters in the state.

In it's effort to take the advantage of it's massive votes generated during elections, the coalition has resolved to embark on voters education and sensitization programs on continues voters registration (CVR) to acquaint its constituents with the requisite knowledge on how to register and/or renew their voters cards.

The coalition also assigned each participating organization/association to identify major problem/issues affecting their immediate communities, and come up with practical and strategic plans to be jointly implemented by the coalition.

To compliment the effort of government, the coalition has charged constituents to be monitoring and evaluating agents of government's facilities (both services and products if any) in their immediate communities.
