Meet Justice Job and Hajara Hassan Umar.

Remember Justice Job? He is the young boy we met during our support for women farmers, helping his mother on the farm. After his father was no longer in the picture, Justice dropped out of school and took on a responsibility far beyond his years, becoming the “man” of the house and helping his mother provide for the family.

Then there is Hajara Hassan Umar. After losing her father, Hajara had to drop out of school after SS1 so she could stay home and care for her blind mother.

Two children. Two difficult circumstances. One thing in common: they had to put their education on hold because life demanded more from them than children should have to bear.

Through WOLTI Initiative’s Operation Go Back to School, we are working to support children like Justice and Hajara to return to the classroom, reclaim their dreams and have another chance at the future they deserve.

Every child deserves a chance to learn. Every child deserves a future.

OPERATION GO BACK TO SCHOOL — WOLTI INITIATIVE

Yesterday, 23rd September 2026, WOLTI Initiative took another meaningful step in our commitment to ensuring that every child has the opportunity to learn, grow, and build a better future.

Through our Operation Go Back to School initiative, two children were successfully enrolled back into school.

Abdullahi Usman dropped out of school in Primary 4 several years ago and was taken into Almajiranci. He has since returned to his village in Zambuk, where he survives by sweeping shops and working on farms, as his mother struggles financially.

Today, Abdullahi has another opportunity to return to the classroom and continue his education.

We also met Mary Suleiman, who was facing serious financial challenges that threatened her ability to continue her education into SS2. As part of our commitment to the education, protection and welfare of the girl child, WOLTI Initiative is sponsoring Mary through secondary school, up to her WAEC examination and graduation.

These are not just school enrollments. They are second chances, restored hope, and investments in the future.

At WOLTI Initiative, we believe that poverty should never be the reason a child loses their chance at education.

One child at a time. One family at a time. One future at a time.

WOLTI Initiative at GONET’s Citizens’ Accountability Report Meeting.

WOLTI Initiative was pleased to attend GONET’s 2025 Citizens’ Accountability Report (CAR) Engagement Meeting, themed “Gombe State Budget of Commitment and Resilience.”

The meeting brought together representatives from the State Budget and Planning Committee, Treasury House, and Ministry of Finance, who provided accounts of the State’s income and expenditure for the 2025 fiscal year.

The engagement provided an important platform for transparency, accountability, and citizen participation in governance.

We appreciate GONET for creating this valuable space for engagement, collaboration, citizen participation in governance and the promotion of transparency and accountability.

STORIES OF RESILLIENCE: FAMILIES SURVIVING AGAINST ALL ODDS.

These are stories of different families in Gombe State, whose lives are sustained by farming, determination, and remarkable resilience.

* Justice’s Family.

We visited a single mother and her children at their farm behind Fashola Estate, Kano Road. Her 12-year-old son, Justice, who also has a younger sister has become a strong support to the family since the disappearance of his father. Justice is currently out of school, and WOLTI Initiative is working towards enrolling him back into school. In addition, a token was given to his mother to assist the family.

* Mama Ngoba’s Family.

At Zambuk, we met Mama Ngoba, 84, a retired primary school teacher and mother of six who has lost two of her children. She currently cares for two grandchildren and a 43-year-old son with disability, members of her household are aged 43, 20 and 16, with one currently in secondary school. Farming remains an important means of supporting the family, and WOLTI Initiative offered her a little support to strengthen her efforts.

* Mrs. Indo’s Family.

At Tumfure, behind the Labour Quarters, we met Mrs. Indo, a widow, and took time to understand her living conditions and the physical toll of farming as she works hard to provide for her family. After listening to her needs, WOLTI Initiative presented her with a token of support to assist with immediate expenses and encourage her continued efforts.

* Mrs. Asabe’s Family.

Our survey also took us to Mrs. Asabe, another widow, in an area behind the Redeemed Christian Church at Tumfure. We observed her commitment to farming and the challenges involved in sustaining her household. We appreciated her resilience with a token of encouragement, hoping to ease some of her present challenges.

At WOLTI Initiative, we believe that investing in a woman strengthens a family and transforms a community. 💜

WOLTI Initiative had the privilege of attending GONET’s Quarterly Members Learning and Collaboration Meeting, a valuable platform for learning, networking, and strengthening civil society in Gombe State.

The conversations highlighted the power of collaboration in closing gaps, the importance of including persons with disabilities in projects, meaningful approaches to empowerment, and the need for proper record-keeping.

We also learned from the experiences, challenges, and achievements of fellow organizations, gaining insights that can help us improve our work and create greater impact.

Together, we can build stronger organizations and a healthier, more inclusive community. 💜

Invest in a Woman. Strengthen a Family. Transform a Community. 💜

Meet Mrs. Amina Musa from Gombe, a widow and mother of five, who works tirelessly on her farm to provide for her children.

Through her resilience, she has been able to support her first child through secondary school. Today, two of her children are still in secondary school, while the other two are in primary school.

On 8th August 2026, the WOLTI Initiative team reached out to Mrs. Amina and presented her with a token support of ₦20,000 to encourage and strengthen her efforts. The token was also given to her to encourage her farming activities.

There are countless women like Amina who work tirelessly every day to provide food, clothing, shelter, healthcare and education for their families. Sometimes, all they need is a little kindness, support and a push to keep going.

We believe that when you invest in a woman, you strengthen a family, and when families are strengthened, communities are transformed.

Invest in a woman. Strengthen a family. Transform a community.

🎒 OPERATION GO BACK TO SCHOOL 📚

Every child deserves a chance to learn.
At WOLTI INITIATIVE, we are launching Operation Go Back to School, an intervention aimed at giving vulnerable children a second chance at education.
For this first phase, we will sponsor 5 children across Gombe State who have dropped out of primary or secondary school due to financial hardship, including the inability to pay school fees, purchase uniforms, books, or other essential learning materials.

We are calling on community members, teachers, religious leaders, and the general public to help us identify deserving children from Gombe metropolis and rural communities.
We also encourage passionate Almajiri children who genuinely desire to return to formal education to apply.

Who can apply?
✅ Children who have dropped out of primary or secondary school due to poverty.
✅ Vulnerable children from low-income families across Gombe State.
✅ Passionate Almajiri children who are willing and eager to go to school.
📩 To nominate a child or apply, send us a DM on our page with the child's details and a brief description of their situation.
🗓 Application closes: 31st August 2026.
🤝 Partner With Us
Would you like to help us reach more than 5 children?

We welcome individuals, groups, businesses, and organizations who share our vision of ensuring that no child is left behind because of poverty. If you would like to partner with WOLTI INITIATIVE by sponsoring a child, donating school supplies, or supporting this campaign in any way, please send us a DM.

Together, we can restore hope, transform lives, and build a future where every child has access to quality education.
One child in school today is one less child on the streets tomorrow.
