Today, Adda Girl Education Foundation joined Civil Society Action Coalition on Education for All (CSACEFA), FCT Chapter, to commemorate the Day of the African Child 2026 with students of Junior Secondary School Jabi 1 and Junior Secondary School Life Camp, Abuja.
This year's theme, "Ensuring Universal Access to Water, Sanitation and Hygiene for Every Child in Africa," highlights the importance of creating safe, healthy, and child-friendly learning environments for all African children.
As part of the commemoration, students were engaged on the importance of personal hygiene, environmental cleanliness, and maintaining safe school surroundings. Discussions also focused on gender-responsive WASH (Water, Sanitation and Hygiene), emphasizing the need for inclusive sanitation facilities and practices that support the dignity, health, and educational success of every child, especially girls.
The event concluded with a practical soap-making demonstration, equipping students with knowledge and skills that promote healthy hygiene practices. The soap produced during the session was presented to the participating schools.
Together, we are building a future where every child can learn, grow, and thrive in a safe and healthy environment.
