A case of a missing child was reported to the New-Life Community Care Initiative (NELCCI) by the neighborhood security.
The missing child Miss Favour Adaeze Nwachidubem 10 years, from Eziagu Local Government area of Enugu State said she has been roaming the street since December, 2024 begging from people to survive.
According to her, her mother left her with a neighbour (a lady) while she traveled with her other siblings to the village with the intention to pick Favour later when she comes back.
She said after some days as the lady could not see her mother pick her as promised the lady decided to take Favour back to their yard only to discover that her parents had packed out of the yard with no traces.
The lady then asked Favour to leave her house in December since she could not cater for her feeding and upkeep alone.
Note that Favour is epileptic, she even had the attack while she was under our custody. It is evident that her parents decided to abandoned her because of her condition.
However, we have handed her over to the Ministry of Children, Gender Affairs & Social Development Enugu for further investigation and possible reconciliation if need be.
