Our Vision
At Seizure Support Foundation, we be

Seizure Support Foundation is a non – for – profit, non – partisan, and non – governmental health and education based organization in Nigeria. We are passionate about the health and education of children with learning disabilities due to neurological disorders. We are dedicated to awareness creation & public enlightenment, education & training, research and advocacy. Seizure Support Foundation works to provide awareness and public enlightenment about neurological disorders in children; and how it affects their development and learning disabilities. Neurological disorders like Epilepsy, Infantile spasms, Autism Spectrum Disorder and Cerebral Palsy are grossly misunderstood especially in Low and Middle Income Countries like Nigeria. This has lead to widespread discrimination, stigmatization, marginalization and inequalities against affected children. Through our weekly podcasts and media programs, we seek to spark up conversations that will ultimately impact and change negative societal attitutes towards persons with neurological disorders. The goal is to build a World Class Development Center that will provide educational solutions to special children, special educators and schools. Seizure Support Foundation is passionate about educating children who have developed learning disabilities due to previous or on – going neurological disorder. We believe that every child has a right to basic quality education, regardless of any learning disability. Consequently, the Seizure Disorder & Learning Disability special scholarship initiative was launched early 2022 to help special awardees with their learning experience using novel and supportive teaching methods and best practices. Our bootcamps are designed to train children in basic life and survival skills; where they are taught basic hygiene, sanitary practices, arts and crafts (pic)

Seizure Support Foundation believes that data – driven and evidence – based advocacy model is one of the most effective ways of influencing both health and education based legislation. Therefore, our organization is embarking on a first – of – its – kind prevalence study in order to estimate the numbers and the burden of neurological disorders and leraning disabilities in children living in Enugu. We plan to use this data to constructively sensitize law makers in our advocacy campaigns. This is to ensure that the wide gap in education inequalities between children with learning disabilities and their cunterparts is significantly reduced by implementimg and domesticating the Special Education Policy of Nigeria in the State. Seizure Support Foundation conducts periodic Special Education Teacher Training Programs that train educators on best practices and online packages available to help the children with their learning experiences. We empower teachers with the knowledge, attitudes and technical know – how necessary for impacting special children positively.

If learning is fun, tell me... what child wouldn't love to play and learn at the same time?

That was exactly the atmosphere at the Science Heroes to the Rescue Corner, where the Seizure Support Foundation Medical Corps taught children the meaning of CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation)—not with a lecture, but with a fun, catchy song.

Before long, they were singing, smiling, and confidently explaining that "Cardio means Heart, Pulmonary means Lungs, and Resuscitation means Bringing Back to Life." What seemed like play had become life-saving education.

Children learn best when they are engaged, and the lessons they enjoy are often the ones they remember for life. Today they learned a song. Tomorrow, that knowledge could help save a life.

Why teach children CPR?

We believe you're never too young to learn how to save a life.

They learn to stay calm, call for help immediately, contact a parent or emergency services, and begin chest compressions and rescue breaths while waiting for trained responders.

They grow into confident, responsible citizens who understand that every second counts in an emergency.

At the Science Heroes to the Rescue Corner of the STEAM Festival, the SSF Medical Corps of the Seizure Support Foundation took children on an unforgettable journey into the life-saving world of CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation).

We started with a catchy CPR song to capture their attention—and it worked brilliantly! The children sang, laughed, remembered the steps, then eagerly participated in hands-on demonstrations before wrapping up with an interactive Q&A session. It was engaging, practical, and an overwhelming success.

Want your school, organization, teachers, staff, or students to receive practical First Aid and CPR training?

Send us a DM today and let the SSF Medical Corps equip your community with life-saving skills. Because the best time to learn CPR is before an emergency happens.
