HAPPY NEW MONTH MESSAGE
From the National President & Founder, Organization of Igbo Communities (OIC)
Hon. Chukwuemeka Ukason Major

My dear OIC Global Family,

As we step into this new month, I extend my warmest greetings and heartfelt blessings to every member of the Organization of Igbo Communities across the world. May this month bring renewed strength, progress, and unity to all our families and communities.

The OIC was founded on the pillars of unity, integrity, cultural preservation, and the collective advancement of the Igbo people. I am deeply grateful for your unwavering support, commitment, and shared dedication to this noble vision. Together, we continue to build a global platform that uplifts our people, protects our heritage, and strengthens our identity with pride and dignity.

In this new month, I call upon every member to stay steadfast, peaceful, and focused. Let us continue to uphold the values of truth, honor, and brotherhood that define the Igbo spirit. As we face challenges, let us face them together. As opportunities arise, let us seize them together. And as victories come, let us celebrate them together.

May this month open doors of breakthrough for you.
May your homes experience peace.
May your efforts be rewarded.
May the OIC continue to rise, united and stronger.

Happy New Month to the entire OIC Global Family.

Udo diri unu.

ORGANIZATION OF IGBO COMMUNITIES (OIC)

GLOBAL COMMUNIQUÉ & PRESS RELEASE

Date: 21st November 2025

Issued by: Mazi. Chukwuemeka Ukason Major, National President, OIC

STATEMENT ON THE JUDICIAL RULING AGAINST MAZI NNAMDI KANU

The Organization of Igbo Communities (OIC), under the leadership of Mazi. Chukwuemeka Ukason Major, National President, expresses grave concern over the recent judicial ruling delivered by Justice Omotosho, sentencing Mazi Nnamdi Kanu to life imprisonment.

OIC believes that this judgment falls short of democratic and judicial standards, and raises serious questions about fairness, transparency, and respect for human rights within the Nigerian judicial system. The ruling, as currently delivered, risks undermining public confidence in justice and may further strain national unity.

CALL FOR CALM AND LAWFUL CONDUCT

The OIC calls on all Igbo communities and supporters of Mazi Kanu to remain calm, peaceful, and law-abiding. Violence, unrest, or any form of retaliatory action is strongly discouraged.

We affirm that Mazi Kanu’s legal team has initiated an appeal, and we remain confident that the appeal process will uphold the principles of justice, fairness, and due process.

OUR POSITION

The judgment does not reflect democratic norms or judicial integrity expected in a nation that prides itself on the rule of law.

Mazi Kanu’s case carries profound national and international significance, and the ruling threatens to deepen ethnic divisions.

Nigeria’s courts must be instruments of justice, not tools of political or ethnic suppression.

ON THE PRESIDENT’S RESPONSE

While we acknowledge the President’s public statements regarding this judgment, OIC urges measured, unbiased, and reconciliatory approaches. The President must demonstrate leadership committed to national unity, fairness, and justice for all citizens, avoiding actions that could be perceived as partial or inflammatory.

GLOBAL CALL TO THE INTERNATIONAL COMMUNITY

The OIC appeals to:

International human rights organizations

Democratic governments worldwide

Regional and global justice institutions to closely monitor the appeals process, ensuring compliance with international legal standards and respect for human rights.

COMMITMENT OF OIC

Under the guidance of Mazi. Chukwuemeka Ukason Major, National President, the Organization of Igbo Communities reaffirms its dedication to:

Peaceful advocacy and lawful action

Protection of Igbo rights and dignity

Promotion of national unity and stability

Ensuring justice is both done and seen to be done

We call on all members of the Igbo nation and the global community to stand firm in the pursuit of justice while maintaining peace and civility.

Signed:
Mazi. Chukwuemeka Ukason Major
