Topic: Prepare
Text: Joshua 1:11
Pass through the host, and command the people, saying, Prepare you victuals; for within three days ye shall pass over this Jordan, to go in to possess the land, which the LORD your God giveth you to possess it.

Devotional

In my younger days, I came across a statement that has remained indelible in my heart which says: Proper Preparation Prevents Poor Performance (5 Ps for success). These words keep me on track whenever I have something important to do. It is also required if you really want to possess your possession.

In our reference scripture, Joshua told the people to prepare their provision for the journey and battle to go over Jordan.

He knew that possessing the land of Canaan was not a kid's party or funfair but a serious matter that required adequate preparation.

As you take stock of what is rightfully yours that you need to possess, make adequate preparation so that you are not caught off guard.

Power is not given on a platter of gold so also is your possession. You need to cross the Jordan, which signifies your comfort zone and battle for what is yours.

I am confident that as you step out with courage and fight for what is rightfully yours, you will celebrate in the coming days.

Topic: Courage to Possess
Text: Joshua 1:6
Be strong and of a good courage: for unto this people shalt thou divide for an inheritance the land, which I sware unto their fathers to give them.

Devotional

One key element required to possess your possession is courage. Someone once defined courage as follows: courage is not the absence of fear but the realisation that there is something greater than fear. This definition points to the fact that without courage, you cannot get to the greater goal that is greater than fear which is your possession.

In our reference scripture, we see God telling Joshua to be strong and of good courage because of the task of possessing their possession.

Why did Joshua need courage? He needed it because of the enemies and the Israelites as well. There are decisions that must be taken and emotion cannot get in the way. Sentiments must not be applied. At such times, only courage can get the desired results.

In possessing your possession, you need courage because sometimes you have to deaden your emotion to really take possession. There is no sentimental attachment or emotional play in the business of possessions. As they say, if you snooze, you loose.

If you lack courage, start building it now!!

Topic: Total Recovery
Text: 1 Samuel 30:8
And David enquired at the LORD, saying, Shall I pursue after this troop? shall I overtake them? And he answered him, Pursue: for thou shalt surely overtake them, and without fail recover all.

David had a very painful experience when he returned to Ziklag with his men. Their wives and children had been taken away into captivity and all they had was burnt to ashes. He despaired but remembered his God and encouraged himself.

He realised that loss is not defeat and sort divine direction from God. When God assured him of recovery, he stepped out in faith and pursued the enemies with 400 of his men while the other 200 hundred stayed back because they were exhausted with despair.

David eventually met a young man that led them to the camp of the enemy where they recovered all that was lost and gained spoils from the enemy.

One interesting thing about God is that He doesn't just restore what we lost but also gives us spoils to compensate for lost time and resources. He pays us with compounded interest and more.

In this month of March, you will encounter God like never before and He will cause you to Recover all; spiritually, financially, emotionally and physically in the name of Jesus Christ.

Welcome to our month to *Recover All*

Topic: Consecrate Yourself Now!
Text: 2 Chronicles 29:31 Then Hezekiah answered and said, Now ye have consecrated yourselves unto the LORD, come near and bring sacrifices and thank offerings into the house of the LORD. And the congregation brought in sacrifices and thank offerings; and as many as were of a free heart burnt offerings.

When King Hezekiah made a call for the people to bring their offerings, they were required to consecrate themselves unto God.

Why? When you consecrate yourself unto God, your offering becomes consecrated and acceptable before God. A holy person bears holy things and this is why God emphasized the need for personal consecration.

Jesus spoke about pouring new wine in an old wine bottle and the bursting effect due to the age of the bottle and the fermenting power of the new wine. This is the same with consecration, if you are consecrated to God, you will carry freshness and all you do will be fresh and not cause a disaster but if you are not consecrated, your gifts will cause a purging effect and lead to disaster.

Notice that consecration creates on you a clean, free heart and right spirit. And since God looks at the state and intent of our hearts, consecration is therefore needed to ensure that you are in right standing with God before coming into His presence.

Are you consecrated to bring worthy offerings before the Lord. Search yourself and do the needful today.

Prayers:

1. Father, create in me a clean heart and renew the right spirit within me.

2. Father, wash me with your blood and make me whole to stand before your holy presence.

Selah!!!

Topic:. Call to Holiness
Text: Exodus 29:33
They are to eat these offerings by which atonement was made for their ordination and consecration. But no one else may eat them, because they are sacred.

During the consecration of Aaron and his sons, they were required to eat the offerings that were used for their atonement. No one else, even from Israel, was permitted to eat out of it because it was holy. This symbolises the seriousness of consecration and how personal it is. By eating that sacrifice used for their atonement, holiness became the order of the day for Aaron and his sons.

Consecration is a call not only to offer ourselves as living sacrifices but to live holy and in a constant relationship with God. This act underscores our fellowship with the Lord, symbolizing that we are both His servants and His friends.

When we consecrate ourselves, we open ourselves up to free interaction with the Spirit of God because we have been separated from the world and all its trappings and dedicated to God and his bidding.

A careful study from verse 29 to 33, shows that the ceremony lasted for 7 days and this gave Aaron and his sons time to ponder on their dedication to service.

Consecration is a call to live holy and in acceptance to God. But the good news is, it gives divine access to the Spirit of God to know the mind of God and get answers when we call on him.

Aaron, by his office through consecration, could intercede and offer acceptable sacrifice of atonement on behalf of Israel.

Think about that for a moment.

Are you consecrated for service unto the Lord?

Prayers:

1. Father, I surrender my life and my will to you.
2. Father, every relationship that will draw me away from your ways, scatter by fire.

Selah!!!!

Topic: Divine Access
Text: Matthew 16:19
I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven; whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.

The above words stand as one of the most powerful words for the believer today. The power to decree and heaven will sign off and establish what is decreed here on earth - to bind and to loose - is powerful.

This is Access. This is God saying to us, look guys, I am giving you the authority that will enable you function at the highest level. Remember, Jesus came to declare the kingdom and to bring it to us. After completing that assignment, He handed over the keys to us - amazing. But the problem is what have we done with the keys to the kingdom so far?

Divine Access is a realm where limitations are lifted, doors open supernaturally, and we walk in the fullness of His promises. Divine access means unrestricted entry into spiritual, financial, and physical breakthroughs that only God can provide. That's the power we have by holding unto the keys of the kingdom.

In this month of February, it is my prayer for you to understand what you have been given and how best to utilise it for your benefit and those around you.

As they say, the ball is in your court. Use the keys wisely.

Welcome to the month of Divine Access.

Topic: Keep Loving!
Text: Hebrews 13:1
Keep on loving one another as brothers and sisters. NIV

The subject of love for one another is not a momentary or temporary issue. It is something we must continue to do.

In our reference scripture, we are admonished to keep on loving one another as brothers and sisters. This is a command. Why must we keep loving? Can't we just love and stop at some point?

You see, love is intentional and not emotional. This is why you need to deliberately continue to do it. It's like taking your bath daily. You ensure you take your bath everyday because you know the implications of not doing so.

Loving one another is something we do daily because there might be some misunderstanding but we love irrespective. There might be hurt but we love irrespective. There might be an offence but we love irrespective.

In fact, Jesus told Peter that forgiveness is seventy times seven times. So love is a continuous practice that must be upheld as brethren.

I once read an anonymous quote that said, "love is greater than all the bombs of the earth put together". Going by this quote, it is clear that if we truly love ourselves, when there is a misunderstanding, it will be resolved without breaking down the relationship.

Make it a point of duty from today to intentionally love on a continual basis no matter what the situation may be because Jesus commands us to do so.
