The Favour Itunu Gift Oladosu (FIGO) Foundation has marked its sixth anniversary, celebrating years of sustained humanitarian interventions across communities.

In a statement issued by the Communications Officer, Ayobami Abidoye on Friday, the foundation disclosed that close to 10,000 beneficiaries have been reached through its various programmes since inception.

The interventions cut across students, widows, the aged, and youths, with a focus on improving welfare and promoting self-reliance.

FIGO noted that its activities have included scholarship schemes, food distribution, and direct cash support to vulnerable individuals

The foundation also implemented the distribution of educational materials to students in underserved communities to support learning.

In addition, it organised seminars and mentorship sessions aimed at guiding young people toward productive and responsible living.

Skill acquisition programmes were also introduced to equip youths with practical knowledge for economic independence.

Medical outreach initiatives formed part of the foundation’s interventions, providing basic healthcare support to residents in selected areas.

Speaking on the anniversary, the President of the foundation, Itunu Oladosu, reflected on the journey, describing it as one driven by compassion and commitment to service.

She stated that the foundation started with a simple vision to reach out to those in need and has grown steadily over the years through consistent efforts.

Oladosu acknowledged the challenges encountered along the way but noted that the impact recorded has remained a major source of encouragement.

She commended sponsors, partners, volunteers, and friends of the foundation for their contributions and support toward sustaining its activities.

The FIGO President noted that the role of supporters has been instrumental in expanding the reach of the foundation’s programmes.

She reaffirmed the foundation’s commitment to extending its impact to more communities and increasing the number of beneficiaries.

The foundation stated that it will continue to focus on initiatives that address basic needs, promote education, and support community development.

200 Students Attend FIGO Foundation Sensitisation on War Against Teenage Pregnancy

About 200 students from selected schools in Ejigbo, participated in a sensitisation programme organised by the Favour Itunu Gift Oladosu (FIGO) Foundation as part of activities to mark the celebration of 2026 International Women’s Day.

The event, held on Thursday at the Ejigbo Baptist High school’s multipurpose hall, focused on raising awareness about the dangers of teenage pregnancy and encouraging young girls to make informed decisions about their future.

As part of the programme, the students were also supported with writing materials to aid their academic activities.

Speaking at the event, the Founder of FIGO Foundation, Itunu Oladosu, emphasised the importance of educating young girls about the risks associated with teenage pregnancy.

She noted that the issue continues to affect the future and educational opportunities of many young girls, stressing that awareness and proper guidance are key to addressing the problem.

Oladosu explained that the foundation decided to lead the campaign as part of its commitment to protecting and empowering young girls through education and mentorship.

According to her, many cases of teenage pregnancy occur due to lack of adequate information, peer pressure and poor decision-making among teenagers.

She encouraged the students to remain focused on their education and avoid distractions that could jeopardise their future.

Itunu advised them to always think about their long-term goals and make choices that would help them achieve their dreams.

Oladosu reminded the students that every young girl has the potential to become successful if they remain disciplined, confident and committed to their studies. She urged them to seek guidance from parents, teachers and mentors whenever they face challenges or confusion.

Also addressing the students, the guest speakers, Mrs Monsurat Oluwatoyin Ibraheem and Mrs Adisa, explained that early pregnancy can lead to serious health complications, disrupt education and limit future opportunities for young girls.

The speakers highlighted the role of self-discipline, proper guidance and focusing on education as key measures to prevent teenage pregnancy.

They encouraged the students to take their future seriously, avoid negative peer influence and always prioritise their personal growth and academic development.

The event was attended by the Principal of Ejigbo Baptist High School, Mr Paimo, as well as Mr Opawole Taiwo Adewole, alongside other members of the school community who commended the foundation for organising the impactful programme.

Ramadan, Lent: FIGO Foundation Extends Greetings, Assures Inclusive Humanitarian Support

The Favour Itunu Gift Oladosu (FIGO) Foundation has extended warm greetings to Muslim and Christian faithful as they commence the sacred seasons of Ramadan and Lent, urging them to embrace the spiritual significance of the periods.

In a statement issued by the foundation’s Communication Officer, the organisation described Ramadan and Lent as seasons of deep reflection, self discipline, sacrifice and renewed commitment to faith and humanity.

The foundation noted that both sacred observances provide an opportunity for believers to strengthen their relationship with God through fasting, prayer and acts of charity, while promoting peace and unity within their communities.

According to the statement, the twin seasons serve as reminders of the importance of compassion, forgiveness and support for the less privileged, especially during challenging times.

The organisation encouraged Muslims and Christians to use the fasting periods to pray for peace, stability and progress in Nigeria, stressing that collective prayers and responsible actions remain vital for national development.

It further called on individuals and organisations to demonstrate kindness and generosity to vulnerable members of society, in line with the core teachings of both faiths.

The FIGO Foundation assured of its continued commitment to inclusivity in its humanitarian programmes, emphasising that efforts would be strengthened to ensure that no one is left behind regardless of background, status or belief.

The foundation prayed for strength, good health and divine blessings for all Muslims and Christians observing the holy seasons, expressing hope that the periods would bring renewed hope, unity and positive transformation to families and communities.
