Alhaji Muhammad Garba explained that the foundation operates on Islamic endowment principles through Waqf donations, generating benefits aimed at assisting the less-privileged for the sake of Allah. He stated, “Our goal is to create a lasting positive impact on the lives of vulnerable populations in Miga Local Government Area. The funds realized, along with those to be generated in the future, will be allocated as follows: 60% will be invested for sustainability, while 40% will directly support vulnerable groups, including orphans, the elderly, widows, and underserved community members.”
The chairman noted that the idea originated from the annual Zakat collection initiated by the Emirate Council under the late Emir of Dutse, His Royal Highness Alhaji Nuhu Sunusi, with support from the Foreign, Commonwealth, and Development Office (FCDO).
Speaking at the ceremony, Dr. Hassan Hussaini Adamu, a representative of the Lafiya Programme—funded by the FCDO—highlighted the programme's contributions to promoting healthcare, enhancing education, and fostering philanthropy and investment. He noted that the Lafiya Programme supports five states and 138 local government areas in Nigeria in these critical areas.
The Al-Yaqeen Miga Waqf Foundation aims to build sustainable financial independence while improving the quality of life for the less privileged in Miga Local Government Area.
