Strengthening Livelihoods Through Vocational Skills Development
In an effort to strengthen the livelihoods of vulnerable populations by improving access to vocational skills and economic opportunities, Taimako Community Development Initiative (TCDI), with support and funding from Christoffel-Blindenmission (CBM) International and German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) under the Promoting Inclusive Education and Vocational Training in Nigeria (Pro-IEVTiN) Project, has successfully completed vocational skills training for 50 beneficiaries drawn from Bade, Nangere, and Nguru LGAs in Yobe State.
The beneficiaries underwent three months of intensive training in Tailoring and Fashion Design, equipping them with practical skills to support sustainable livelihoods and enhance economic self-reliance.
As part of the programme activities, the graduation ceremony of the trainees from Bade LGA was held at the BEST Center Gashua on Thursday, 5th March 2025. During the event, the graduating trainees were supported with sewing machines and related accessories to enable them to start their businesses and apply the skills acquired during the training.
This initiative marks a significant step toward promoting economic empowerment, self-reliance, and sustainable livelihood opportunities for vulnerable youth and community members in the project areas.
