PRESS RELEASE FROM THE STATE SECRETARIAT OF YOBE DEMOCRATIC VISION !
As our state moves closer to another election cycle, many citizens have expressed growing concern about the direction of leadership selection, limited public consultation, and the feeling that important decisions are too often made without the voices of ordinary people. We hear those concerns clearly.
Democracy is strongest when leadership emerges through fairness, open competition, consultation, and the free will of the people ! not fear, silence, or the assumption that citizens have no alternative.
For too long, many people have felt discouraged from speaking honestly about governance, accountability, and the future of Yobe State. YDV believes that respectful disagreement is not disloyalty, and asking for better leadership is not rebellion. It is the right of every citizen in a democratic society.
We also believe that no political environment should become so closed that citizens feel they have only one path, one voice, or one option, and to make it worse one party system. Progress comes through accountability, inclusive governance, healthy competition, and leaders who earn public trust.
YDV stands for a new culture of engagement where young people, women, elders, professionals, students, traders, and communities can speak freely, organize peacefully, and contribute meaningfully to the future of Yobe State.
To our members and supporters: your patience has not been wasted. We are preparing a movement built on principle, discipline, courage, and service.
In the coming weeks, we will release details of our official launch, membership registration, local government structures, and statewide engagement programs.
The future of Yobe must never be decided without the people of Yobe.
Strength in Unity, Power in Youth.
SIGNED,
Eng. Umar Ado Gashua,
Secretary general, YDV.
